All kidding aside. Nice looking plants bud.
I am a hard core advocator of proper defoliation in order to reduce popcorn bud and increase top cola production.
Please fast forward to 8 min of this video. Watch it a few times so you have a good understanding of the strip to the tip concept.

I take everything off 50% up the bottom of the main stalks in order to keep maximum airflow bellow the canopy.
Above the 50% mark I prefer pinching buds off and leaving as many leaves as I can. Leaves are light collectors! Light is plant food.
