THE TRAINWRECK. Brought to you by thcfarrmer…..

When I was first looking at inline fans I watched a video review on Amazon. Some guy was saying you need both (those people get a commission, so...). Then saw others online saying it and was like...? Definitely don't need both

I have a small intake fan on my Mobile Tent. Helped me a lot in the summer battling heat. Also allowed me to get nighttime temps down to low 60's during flower. Haha hell my tent is in dryin mode right now sitting at 56f, dont know if that would have been possible without the intake.

i didn't do any math, or side by side comparison. I just know before the extra fan i was fighting a losing battle with heat when summer rolls around.

It also might help when you are in flower and are limited on air supply options that dont allow for light creeps. I don't really know. But i am sure there are a couple reasons it might be beneficial in some people's rig. Just depends on what ya need. Definitely not a mandatory piece of gear lol
Wonder if one bigger exhaust fan would do the same thing to pull in more air? Those 6 and 8" take huge carbon filters though.

I've been hearing some people say they use an intake fan as well as an exhaust fan in their tents. Is there really a point to an intake fan? As long as you have an open vent the exhaust fan should suck fresh air in through that I would think.
I believe there’s a few reasons. One is temp. Hot air rises so you are venting in cooler air and exhaust out the hot air. Another is the size. You can suck all the oxygen out of the tent without an intake. Also leaving an open vent without the intake fan can lead to light leaks. I have used just the intake the winter. I don’t use the exhaust unless the temp needs it.

Definitely would have, just hook up some ducting to the bottom intake.

I was working with what i already had. My tent is built for 4" vents and i already had the exhaust and carbon filter set up. I wanted to add a length of ducting to pull air from the bottom of a stairwell where cooler air collects, or when possible pull fresh air from outside. Plus i want to vent away from the tent so that means more ducting... more length, more curves, filters, etc all mean less cfm. $20 intake fan solved my problem

Definitely don't need both
Hot and dry here. Temp in house 72 degrees. 118 outside. Using a led I have gotten 95 in the tent according to the tool. It’s usually 86 when I can see it. The high point I have never witnessed but it shows up in the high and low memory. If I recall correctly they will be as about 68-71 before lights on in the summer months.

I was thinking about opening one of the bottom vents during the day at least and taping a carbon prefilter to it from an air purifier. No idea how difficult it will be to regulate temperature in my setup yet so just thinking in theory.

Yeah 6” is nice is you’re not dealing with heat it handles my 4x8 and a 4” handles my 4x4x with super strong strains I run the 6” filter in the 4x4 if needed, I’ve installed a few 8” with filters and yeah there pretty damn big, would probably use one in a 5x5 or larger

No need for an intake fan. Your exhaust will handle all the intake needs passively

That’s a 6” filter in the top right in a 4x4 it’s being pulled through by a 4” exhaust fan though

I do it and eliminate the need for any clip fans...it also helps regulate my temps better.... I have a basement grow with nowhere to exhaust... I got 1 temp solution for my portable a.c. but rest of year it's controlling temps just with inline fans

Exhaust the heat out the tent into the basement? I bought one of those portable ac units. I returned it. They are a life saver but will bring nightmares to you.

It's done me ok... without it temps would have hit 90s in summer with it, it was low 80s.... I don't need it for fall winter or spring
