Hello, I just realized that one of my 3 plants has split near the base of the stem.
She is 7 weeks into flowering and this has to have happened in the last couple of days.
Other than some clawing, she has been problem free…until now at least.
What, if anything, should I do?
It takes a lot of force to squeeze the two sides back together…..as is I’d have to use vice grips.
Thanks for advice…..

Beautiful flowers by the way…what’s the strain?
It’s Lilac Diesel x Mandarin Cookies from Ethos. The buds look great but they have absolutely no smell…..none. Some strains are louder than others but you’d expect one w/ a name like that to smell up the place. I’m growing a White Wedding, also an Ethos seed, right beside it and it’s the stinkiest plant I’ve ever grown.
Weird if u ask me.
Thanks for the reassurance.
I used a zip tie and some tape to squeeze it back together, so I’m sure it’ll finish fine.

Ethos can be hit or miss ime. I had a lilac diesel x g’pas stash that reeked of paint thinner with a little citrus in the best way imaginable. Gorgeous plant too. It was a cut that I got as part of a trade, and was hunted out of a pretty good sized batch tho. I have had more than a few that were meh just picking up packs and popping a few beans. I have had better results with other breeders.

If you have not grown out any of Tengu Seeds gear from @Trustfall , that’s a very high-quality place to start. Check out his thread on the seed classifieds. Lots of 🔥

I am also a big fan of aficionados of cannabis seed bank. Although I see their site is down for maintenance. Hopefully just temporarily. I have run a bunch of beans from there and still have yet to have one not pop. Actually getting ready to run some of their stuff right now…yeti f4 and super lemon nightmare regs. I will buy packs from these guys and there’s a few other ”commercial” breeders that I have had good luck with and will grab a few packs if there if something interests me (Cannarado, Twenty20, sensi) but for the most part, I get my seeds from friends and acquaintances that made them. Most of the best plants I have had are from friends or small craft breeders.

When I saw the tiny stump from the topping I wasn’t surprised. I always leave at least a half inch of stump to help prevent splits. It’s not foolproof but it helps a lot.
