Happy frog soil from
fox farm is a generally inert soil media in terms of nutrients from what I’ve heard. It’s good for a starter soil when making clones or raising seedlings or early vegetation.
Fox farm makes an ocean forest blend. Usually growers will start in
happy frog then a week into veg or whenever they transplant into bigger then gallon pots they will switch to ocean forest.
Even though ocean forest soil from
fox farm is said to have nutrients to last the plant a couple weeks I find that it is low on calcium and magnesium. I’d assume
happy frog has even less. If your plant is low on calcium or magnesium you will experience nutrient lock out since some nutrients rely on calcium and magnesium for the plant to uptake the nutrients. Using
fox farm line up they have calcium magnesium in a bottle I forget what it’s called.
Cal-mag on the bottle I think. I add one tsp per gallon in between feedings. I’d suggest a double dose to start then regular dose the following week once a week inbetween feedings. I suggest this because following the
fox farm feeding schedule they don’t include the
cal-mag into the chart for the soil regiment which is what I assume you’re using.
Next grow I’d suggest using
happy frog up til you are in one gallons. Then when you transplant into higher use ocean forest. Also I half all my soil with perlite to make drainage better for plants and oxygen being able to get to roots. When you feed every week don’t forget to feed cal mag into the water you use in between your feeding just once a week.
Other than that you are killing it with this grow and every one after this I feel you will do good. You got the net up which is good. Great work using your tools and keeping your space clean.
