Suffered some damage and did some doctoring. These plants are tough! The big LSD took the most damage. Wrapped in hay twine for the repairs. Cut off any dangling branches. And cleaned up the rest. Glad the girls made it through my friend. That could a be sooooo much worse.



Night shots because no background. better structure shots. So much vegetation around here. Can't tell where the plants stop and the plants start during the day 🤣 Top of the net is 8ft. Pb1 is actually loosing height now that her flower weight is stacking.

I had a visitor when I went out for morning inspection. I found and cut out a small moldy branch on Blood Milk and Sky. She's getting close to coming down soon with the other plants very early on flowering stage.

Outdoor growing and winds. For a lot of people storms and high winds are expected, I live in thunderstorm ally. But its amazing how resilient and tough Mj is. A storm made it all the way up but it was down graded to a full on tropical storm status that lasted several hours. I lost 3 big main branches that was it.

Aside from natural disasters. One time thief's hit three of my plants and left very little for me. Three big bushy plants were reduced to a few main limbs that were left intact. It happened around the middle of flower, which was quite stupid on the theives part. Anyway the remaining limbs continued on to grow out great big fully mature sticky buds as if nothing ever happened. To say marijuana is very resilient may even be a bit of an understatement. Its so tough and beautiful.

But mildew, that nasty shit is like its kryptonite. Its only susceptible to the nasties and bugs. Well and low lifes too.

Have any of you tried gro-tek nutes? They make them in western Canada in B.C and I only found them one time this far way east. The following grow no luck. The botanicare flower is very good stuff too but id like to try gro-tek again to see if the nutes put more behind the bumper crops I harvested the time I used it. I remember that season being more of a stand out. But its also difficult to separate how much strong genetics do on there own. Without doing some direct side by side comparisons. Its too late to wait for shipping for this grow but I might track some of the gro-tek juice for next time.

I'm not even sure if their still in business, yet.

Once full established, there are very few plants that can take what cannabis can. It can take being thrown face down in the dirt, just to stand itself back up and bake in sun exposure that would sun burn most cacti and succulents, and without even so much as drooping a leaf if the moisture content in the soil is appropriate.

Im not away of any other plants that can take the stem damage cannabis can, and continue on growing as if nothing at all even happened. You can loose half a plant, half way through flower, and if its big enough it wont even shock, itll just keep on about its marry business most of the time.

You can wilt these things in dry soil once mature, like leaves flat on the stems, then water and in less then 20 mins its standing proud, and the next day youll even notice growth. As far as plants go, thats pretty absurd tbh. Kinda remarkable. (im kinda being F1 biased here, but even a pug of a plant isnt too far off that once fully established in ground in healthy soil. obviously will be exceptions lol) I dont know of any non desert plants that can cycle moisture at the rate cannabis can, and can keep themselves cool transpiring enough to actively continue growing when its 100 damn degrees outside. My eggplants, tomatoes, and even the corn loose turgidity in the heat before my cannabis does.

So true all true lol.

The leftover stem material become much tougher and harder after 6 months and onwards. I tried to break a thick length of dry stem over things and could not do it. I wonder how it will hold up against something like bamboo? Possibly better because Mj is mostly solid with a thin hole in the centre.

And have you ever tried removing the roots leftover from a mature tree by pulling them by hand? I wouldn't consider myself a weakling or anything but I could not do it. I could pull some out by hand but with the main sections I failed.

Its such a great universal and reliable resource for so many indispensable usful things. Leave it to only governments to make it illegal. If mj was used to replace just packaging paper and cardboard, can you imagine how many trees would be saved? Especially knowing how fast turnover time is.

if you take a large mature stalk and dry it, it's damn near as light as styrefoam, and damn near as strong as wood. Peel the fibers off the flesh and spin em into a piece of rope, and you can lift about 100 lbs with it. Completely unprocessed unwoven raw fiber 0.o Close to as strong as nylon twine of a similar thickness, if not stronger tbh.

Do that with wild hemp skin fibers, and its a lot stronger then even that lol

I have tried making and testing rope with it. It pulled a retired truck with no problem.

You made a valid point about its lightness too. Hey maybe we'al see it on race car fenders some day ;).

I can see someone with too much money doing something out there like that. Constructing a fully hemp body race car. It would be a good attention getting promo if not much else.

Now I'm curious what it weighs compared to comparable carbon fiber, hmm lol. I am so far OT. Id put my money on the carbon fiber for strength. Though to be fair though if epoxies are added to the mj, that would seriously further strengthen it and help fair things up.

it's stronger and lighter then balsa wood is. It just has a spongy inner pith instead of wood grains, so you cant really use it for structural purposes without creating a composite material from it. Which if you do, its stronger and takes UV and O2 exposure better then just about any poly-composite material. That also why paper made from it never yellows like wood pulp paper, oxidation and UV just simply does not really damage hemp fibers. Even if you could make a better suited material from something else, chances are a material comprised of hemp will outlast it when exposed to elements. That's why back in the day, you were a complete and total fool if you made mast and mooring ropes for long ocean voyages from anything else, using anything else would all but guarantee rot, and equipment failure after some time, and in ocean air, and salt exposure, wouldn't be long at all.


The US army would have been truly stupid to make their ropes for the south pacific during WWII out of anything else.

Its pretty incredible. That its not utilized for many things. Just to think how much it could save natural resources and impact environment much less and so on. Plus it wouldn't have to be imported. Every state and province has ideal growing conditions.

theres definitely a cultivars of hemp that will grow just about anywhere there is land between the arctic and Antarctic circles lol. Already, has been for a long time, smh.


It's quite absurd we dont manage this resource effectively in this day and age. Total hallmark of our immaturity as an "intelligent species"
