Salutations,

Before my switch to (and customization of) VaporGenie's Classic/Bronze Sherlock pipes there's been a brief period experimenting with on-demand moisturizing of the cannabic "fumet". Initially it was done with ultrasonic Mist Marker modules just as those in domestic hudimifiers. Preliminary "conditioning" confirmed excellent potential thanks to my efforts about ajustment of the moisturized air amount involved.

The trigger was annoying coughs, it worked so well i understood i'd have to evaluate the VaporGenie suite next, because clean combustion of butane produces H2O besides CO2...

All of my challenges were meant to invite « Independant Duplication », this case wasn't different so it had to depend on a relatively easy hack of some ready-made product; a low-cost device generating cold fog seemed appropriate as i got lucky enough to locate one on-shelf brand/model in my local neighbourhood that came with a circular opening featured with some handle under the cap, the best part of it being that it matched the 105 mm (dia.) body of an ordinary soft dring bottle:

All i needed to do was to cut it correctly, make a few holes where to pass aquarium (food-safe) PVC tubes, create a sliding mixer shutter and voilà:

Below that's my final cannabic path once i assembled it:

Pay special attention to its "U" shaped section and the tiny bottom hole in particular. As for the succession of smaller PVC tubing sections it promoted turbulence until the cannabis vapour came out. Here's a close up on my fine-tuned on-demand moisture injector:

The way it works is no rocket science really. At first the moist air condensates into a water droplet which gravity keeps on top of the injection hole while surface tension won't let it fall through... This is nearly ideal because moisturized air must not enter the cannabic path between inhalations, as a bonus the amount gets dosed in some approximative manner.

Each puff got greatly enhanced, which simply cured my cough issues. In short it was an exquisite progress!

🤩

In addition, the « FogBong! » could accomodate balloons or other contraptions. Notice its red copper wire acting as a mounting hook keeping this all firmly together:

And talking about multiple scenarios:

There was a choice of direct, indirect and/or bags. Using my HerbalAire i could connect a modified 2-speeds air pump (#1/#2), with its balloon attached (#3/#4) during the 2~3 minutes of filling process. Direct inhalation was a little trickier (#3/#5) as it required some unidirectional valve (#5/#6) made of a basic water bubbler, then the bag option depended on which exact setup it was (#6/#7 or #4/#7). Ultimately a moistured conditioned fumet showed up at the exit (#8) which allowed me to decide what suited me best.

The year after i started to attempt customization of a VaporGenie pipe that could fit in as little as 11 cm (Large) x 9 cm (Wide) x 4 cm (Deep). Quite obviously the FogBong! system wouldn't be portable at all, so that's why it stood on the table of my Shawinigan-days veranda a long while:

By the way, having an anti-return vase plugged in also restricted air movement in the tubing and hence kept moisture away from the vaporizer oven, an important detail for a slow/steady scenario where oven cooling is a critical preoccupation... But the fog source doesn't have to be huge, a Mist Maker module in a glass bottle will do fine, especially for disposable bags:

One other bonus from those modules was the cavitation sound combined with LEDs offering a nice trippy light-show watching the multicolour fog moving at night:

Oh my! Do i miss those rememberances of pure bliss! 🥹

So, at the end i expressed the whole story via this visual form, as a simplified symbolic representation:

All the essentials are there, put in a conceptual form, to act as a reminder in case some brave(s) could be tempted to evaluate its benefits.

Good day, have fun!! ☮️

Hi again,

Sometimes mildly warm won't suffice, it's got to be significantly warmer so here's something to help in actually testing all 4 possible scenarios to the fullest extent:

Warm/Dry, direct from the vaporizer
Warm/Moist, add steam instead of fog
Cold/Dry, just toke out of a balloon
Cold/Moist, via mist-maker/nebulizer

This 1st illustration demonstrates my steam scenario:
Egzosets Whole Arizer based Set 2018 Sep 24 300x400

It's based on an IH Cooker generating burning-hot water and hence steam...

My next image explains how that steam gets added into a cannabic path while avoiding the risk of burns:

Steam arrives into a glass accessory from below its water surface, which tames down the heat before my cannabic "fumet" gets mixed with it, e.g. without ever touching any liquid water to preserve aroma/taste hints.

This closeup below provides a detailed view on this simple process:

Notice my blue arrow pointing at its water surface, while the red one suggests that steam injection occurs below that level. Consequently this results in some bubbling action which removes excess heat in order to improve safety and comfort.

My last snapshot clearly shows how the cannabic fumet arrives from above (right-side) while steam rendered evident by condensation droplets is getting added from down under this water surface, which also heats up slowly with each additional toke, as a bonus. So, in short, we can begin the experiment with ice-cold water and finish at the opposite side of the temperature spectrum... Another benefit with steam is its sterilization effect, as long as it's not left in a stale state once done with it of course. One may even choose to cook spaghetti whenever some sudden urge arises having the munchies!

Good day, have fun!! ☮️

It's a pleasure to present other fun experiments to enjoy using an HerbalAire, its aquarium pump, soft-drink (refurbished) 2 L bottles and a Volcano bag - plus sticky tape, styro-foam and some hot glue...

🛠️ 🚀

Why do animals develop a habit of hiding food? Well, here's a collection of vintage videos i had long forgotten for the most part, because it seemed YT erased them many years ago. Being into retro usually means erasure but today a surprizing discovery was awaiting on the corner, which brings me back to over 14 years ago. This short series began just a couple days preceeding my 1st anniversary of initiation to vaporism, a warming moment in the year for me:

HerbalAire & Party-Beast In-Line Pump-Assisted Bladder-Conditioner (2011-Feb-14)

My goal was to explore extreme "purist" avenues which call for exclusion of excess tubing and aquarium pump rubber in the lungs path, before and of course specially after convective extraction. Quite honnestly i must admit i don't understand such a contraption myself, trying to figure out how the balloon could fill up with its other end connected to a non-obstructed mouthpiece - or maybe it was? What i do remember is that the white blocks were necessary to prevent an inflated bag to block free airflow inside the bottle, by avoiding situations where the bag's membrane would stick all around on the internal bottle surface while a pump connected in reverse attempts to create some vaccuum. Similar to a 2-steps process as illustrated in my David vs Goliath analogy:

Phase #1, that containment bag needs ~50 seconds to inflate, then in Phase #2 a consumer could empty it as his own convenient rate: the two phases are kept independent. In any case i considered this version failed its initial purist purpose, so after a few weeks i posted this revision:

HerbalAire ShotGun (Bag) Accessory [2011-Mar-8]

It finally corrected conceptual defects, to be worthy of the previously announced "Party-Beast" title...

Take note of the obviously long tubing spiral, effectively excluded from my lungs path.

🎖️

Then another accessory provided visual punch to enhance all next sessions:

HerbalAire ShotGun (Bag) Accessory & Mist Maker Moisturizer [2011-Mar-8]

Which was a disaster as such attempt to "moisturize" the bag implied it would need to be disposed in the trash can a lot earlier now, distilled water or not! Maintenance was complicated by the need to remove those bottle's grey sticky tape in order to put a freash-new bag inside and seal them together again, which was only meant as a prototype, not a final solution anyway - but this aspect still felt annoying so i retrograded with something much simpler:

3-Way Moisturizer (v1.2) with 18 x 22 inches Oven Bag [2011-Mar-13]

This time the augmented capacity really earned its Party-Beast label while there also was a bit of light & sound entertainment going on, euh... Which lasted ~7 minutes simply waiting most patiently for such mammoth bag to get ready!

An eternity, for a good cause.

Good day, have fun!! ☮️
