hey all! I'm new to the hobby grow! my plants are getting close for harvest! prolly another 3 days for trichomes to slightly amber. I can't believe how much fun this grow was. I learned a bunch about soil nutrients and I feel next year I'll try to clean up some of my beginner mistakes!

Welcome to the hobby, and congrats on getting so close to harvest! It’s awesome to hear how much you’ve enjoyed the process and learned about soil nutrients. It sounds like you're already well on your way to becoming an experienced grower. Those amber trichomes will be the final touch! Next year will definitely be even better as you keep refining your techniques. Feel free to share your progress with us—happy growing!

here are some more pictures of my trichomes getting close! I bought these bags called grove bags. to put into for the cure!View attachment 2285967View attachment 2285968
Your trichomes are looking great—you're definitely getting close! Grove Bags are a solid choice for curing; they do a great job maintaining humidity and keeping everything fresh during the process. Make sure to check your trichomes regularly so you can harvest at the perfect moment. Can’t wait to see how the final product turns out! Keep us posted!

I'm curious if the buds will fatten up in the next 2 weeks? I think I'm gonna be done watering them for now and get the dry time down a little bit. I can only assume they would be done soon judging by trichomes coloration.

Have you harvested yet? One thing that i have done is to take the most mature looking one and leave another for a week, maybe 2. Some didn't seem to change much, some were pretty noticeable.
I grew 2 og kush autos in a homemade earthbox this summer. Harvested one that was done, got about 50g off of it. The other one wasn't quite there yet and I let her go 10 days longer. She bulked up and then turned, yielding just over 80g.

this one I tried to get a shot of the calyx. it's getting closer!

it probably could be pulled today and hung up for 10 days to dry.

I’d take a mid level sample and test it in a day or two, but I agree, they look like you’re solid at this point.

so I just trimmed up one of my plants after letting it dry for 7 days. I used a moisture probe and once it got around 10% I trimmed it up. ended up with 60 grams, which is now in my grove bags sitting at 58% humidity in the bag. the only thing is that my buds seem on the lighter side!?!? kinda airy vs the buds I get at the dispensary. the other 3 plants are still outside waiting for trichomes mature. so hopefully they pack on some density? lol my buds just don't have the same appeal as the dispensary buds, they aren't all that pretty anymore once all trimmed up.

or is my trim job just not that great? I'll take some more pictures tomorrow with better lighting!

Outdoor vs indoor or outdoor vs greenhouse grown can make a huge difference. As your first grow, I’d be damn happy making it to the finish line, especially growing outside.

^^^I wouldn’t gauge the success of my grow by how it looks compared to dispensaries weed, that’s like gauging the success of your workout on professional athletes.

roll that shit up. even if it isn’t super strong it’s probably gonna be delicious lol. Great job!

I got some plants along the same lines I’m waiting to cut cuz it’s gonna be hot as duck this week and I don’t want them to dry too fast

What dispensary are you going to? The stuff I've gotten at the dispo is similar in appearance but definitely lacking in the smell, flavor and effect
