Outdoor grows have been harvested. This is my first indoor grow and my first mephisto grow.

This is mephisto wedding x grape walker kush. 10 days (as of this photo a couple days ago) into flower.View attachment 2296807

Surprised there are this many trichomes this fast. There is still another 45 days of flower or so.

I am also surprised how fast this grew compared to all my outdoor photos that i have done over the last few years.

Autos are a completely different animal, but tent growing makes it kinda easy.

I think i am done growing outside. It is so nice not to have to fight mother nature every season.
Posting this here because i have a question in regards to “frost” buildup. In the picture above, that was taken 4 days ago, and it appears in the picture below that the “frost” (trichome production) has probably doubled.

My question is in regards to the fan leaf in the very front about 9 o’clock on the picture. Am i gonna have to trim that leaf off when the plant starts its bud fattening up phase? Should i leave all the other fan leaves that have trichomes on them?

Only asking because i have never grown a plant this “frosty” before. It seems trichomes are popping up everywhere. Stems, fan leaves, etc. not sure how i should be defoliating this plant. I have been trimming the leaves that are blocking light from flower sites, but outside of that, not sure what i should be doing with this thing.

Thanks!

Hi plant looks great i would be inclined to leave as is unless health issue arises eg dead leaf(remove). I quite often instead of removing a fan i pinch out every other leaflet/blade on the fan leaf, this allows light through but also allows fan to collect energy for fattening buds. I would also invest in some bubble bags or polm sifter for your lovely frosty trim. 💚

I’d leave anything alone that isn’t blocking budsites. And as far as fan leaves with frost consider them trim worthy for edibles or extraction methods.

I have a trim tray with a sifter screen in it. Just got done trimming 2 outdoor plants and got about 5g or so of dry sift.

Is that what you’re talking about? Not sure what bubble bags or a polm sifter are.

My frostiest flowers to date. 1st 2 are Mango Kush. Last 4 are Acai-Berry X Gelato.

Bubble bags are a water and ice extraction method where you can collect high grade full melt bubble hash of various micron size trichomes. A polm sifter/shaker is a frozen dry sift device that produces a single filter frozen sift. Bubble bags only really worth having if you have a large amount of trim/larf the polm sifter is great if only have small to medium amounts of trim/larf. Trim tray only collects knocked off trichomes unless actively working the trim over the screen. You collect more and higher quality if trim is frozen when worked(screen micron size dependant)

I am certainly interested in making hash. I was just telling my uncle that i need to learn how to do it.

I have never made it before…..i better start reading and searching.

Thank you for the reply!
