I can't figure out what could be causing this other than maybe over feeding too much light or wind? The plant looks healthy besides this, auto flower from mephisto week 3 of flower. No bugs I can find, no hermie parts either. I did turn my light up a tad the other night but I figured it would affect the top first as this is a lower middle branch. Did also bump flowering nutrients up a bit as well but only around 1/4 recommended dose. Never had a plant pistols turn brown this early in flower just wondering if anyone has any ideas? Mephisto Girl Scout monkeys in 70/30 coco perlite using general hydroponics line in a autopot system ph sitting around 6.0-6.1.

How is your humidity/temps?
Humidity has been getting into the low/mid 60s when lights are off i just out a dehumidifier in there to help. Usually temps between 72-78 humidity stays around 50-55 during lights on I try to taper it down farther into flower. I've only noticed it on a few sites and this was the worst one with almost the whole top being orange/brown. The other sites it's like 1-2 pistols and they're not fully orange/brown. Same strain in dr earth organics isn't showing anything like it very healthy. That's why I was thinking maybe I over fed with the general hydroponics nutrients?

Hydro growing is still out of my league, I have no experience with it as of yet. Soil growing, one would expect the upper flowers to turn quicker. As long as you've got the jewelers loup in there and it's definitely maturing and not some foreign mold, it could end up just being a fatter lower bud?

I've noticed mine turn quicker when they get hit with direct fan air. Could your fans be pointing towards it? Like two oscillating fans that cross over at that point, just drying it quicker?

Again, just guess work, sorry lol.

i don't really see anything wrong other than some burnt tips (maybe a tad heavy on the nitrogen @ some point). have you touched or fondled that bud? (not being facetious) oils on your skin can turn pistols prematurely brown. that's why some but not all growers where long sleeves and gloves when they have to reach in and around buds when watering, de-leafing etc. just my 2 cents. -peace-

Kind of looks like it may have been pollinated. I'd check again for male parts, they can be hard to find.

i agree, might be pollinated.
although my old tired eyes can't see anything wrong in that pic.
what i read about brown pistils makes me think pollination though.
