Another reason why I like this strain so much is its spacing between the bud sites allows for air flow when growing and drying I didn’t lose much at all maybe 15% not too shabby for this year
Concur sir! Love how sour diesel doesn't rot! Important in this area up north. Have ran two versions of her, and now am in love with fuel. I'm not sure it's just a trend thing because, fuel just tastes great, and has this gassed up effect to her also, if that makes sense. Makes sense why N.Y. loves her. They never sleep, and that strain doesn't either! Lol

Pineapple express volunteer. I swear she is in charge. So 3 volunteers come up. One is big and resembles the sativa side. Another was a boy. Used her to keep genetics. Forgot was last of seed, and didn't make more season before. So 3 showed up for me this year, and 1 was boy. Wow! Even further, number 3 was the smallest. Didn't even think she was gonna make it to the trellis. But she did, and she made a 4 ounce plant max. So small, but this is the loudest pheno I've seen of her so far. I've ran her prolly 10 times now. 😆 and she gave me a better pheno, than I've ever picked! I swear she is in charge, and we are the ones getting used! Lmao!!

Some history, they are just seeds I have collected over about 40 years from Swaziland, Congo and locally Transkei and Durban, they are full sativa's or at least heavily sativa dominant. Let's call them the 8 Sativa Surprises. I live on the Southern tip of Africa, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean we have serious winds here so I have to defoliate heavily to minimise breakage. You wouldn't say so looking at those plants but that smoker at the end of the garden in the pic is full of leaves, tops and anything spindly on the inside. My experience relating to my "African" garden is Indica's don't do well, the pests like them a lot more than they like my Sativa's and they are more prone to bud rot, the wind also has a field day with those large fan leaves. Its also a 100% organic grow, each of those 55gal bags is pretty much a vermicompost bin and plants are only watered with Aloe Vera and Aloe Ferox or AACT with EWC, molasses or my own honey . My only task now is to get them through the summer wind and then to the Finnish line.

Nice! Do you think they will finish before it gets too cold? Don’t know when that is maybe March? Looks like they are well on Their way! Looking forward to see what happens!
Oc Looking back quickly on my previous 2 years notes growing at this location, It seems I started harvesting in stages from 15 April to early May. That said outdoor growers know, even in the same location every year's grow is different. Whatever happens it will be a surprise but I hope its a good one as it's my stash for 2025, I don't do any indoor.

Sounds delicious. Nothing beats African Sativas. Of course that’s my opinion only.
ES I'm laughing because I totally agree, we can go all the way from how tough and hardy they are as plants and really easy to grow 100% organically it must be said, as I have heard if you are using bottled organic nutes or salt based nutes they can be difficult but I wouldn't know much about that, mine only know compost vermicommpost, biochar, airation material, Teas AACT with EWC molasses, Aloe Vere / Aloe Ferox, And last but definitely the most important I like the Sativa high, its what I grew up smoking here in Africa on and off for the past 50 years.

Well, you could keep us posted on this thread, or you could start one of your own! That’s pretty much how I grow! The basics, nothing but water, all summer! Outdoor only! And love getting into land races! Will be keeping my eyes peeled! Take it easy!

I grow in horse shit, and their piss soaked bedding. Composted

Ok cool will post a weekly pic of the grow going forward.

I used to compost our local horse rescues shit and bedding but there wasn't too much knowledge of where their feed originated from so due to broad leaf long life pesticides being used here I have stopped composting horse shit.

Horse shit isn’t for everyone. But I do know the horses personally, and they wouldn’t shit me.

Mind reader
My story.....Im retired, I have partaken in the consumption of the herb one way or the other for just under 50 years. But here's the kicker...... for 44 of those 50 years it was totally illegal, I mean totally. The fucktard authorities sometimes just sprayed pesticides indiscriminately from choppers just because they knew weed was grown in the valleys, they hunted us weed heads like we were serial killers. Now they find out it can generate serious cash so puff excuse the pun they legalised it 6 years ago. So I grow my legal weed garden limit of 8 plants for a home of 2 consenting adults. And because of that history I spoil the fuck out of my weed I know that makes no sense, but I try grow the happiest specimens I can, because honestly I just can't help myself and when even non consumers see my weed garden I want them to see the beauty and promote the positivity of cannabis, just like anyone who loves gardening strives for. So spoil the girls I must haha.

Working on some dry sift. After looking at all the techniques, came up with a vibrating tumbler adaptation. It’s a brass tumbler, not as heavy duty as my rock tumblers. Has a 120,95 and 65 micron screen . So far , so good . Anyhoo , I think it works!
