Salutations,

Although i ain't even trying to follow the "news" anymore it seems to me the potential of this developer was under-estimated, possibly as a result of co$t:

The future of Induction Heating: Live interview with John from Vestratto | All about the Forge (2024-Apr-14)

4 months ago my initial post on YT was rendered invisible for some odd reason, so i didn't want to pay further attention and failed watching the rest of that video thinking it was just another glorified Mazzilli/Royer ZVS with a digital timer. It turns out after revisiting it carefully i finally found this most crucial information on the Vader (1h05m06s), e.g. the Forge with a black skin:

27m43s Slide #3 - Milwaukee RedLithium

2 Ah = 14 hits
3 Ah = 22 hits
4 Ah = 32 hits
6 Ah = 45 hits

Assuming 1 Watt = 1 Joule per second (Power = Energy/Time):

28m29s « We need 240 Watts headroom »

Which does correspond to 12 Volts X 20 Amperes as from a power pack, then we get these additional numbers:

33m23s Preset #4 (DynaVap)
34m05s « 600 Watts over 20 seconds »
...
34m13s « but if you're heating an Anvil you want 2200 Watts and you want to deliver that in about 15 seconds »
...
34m41s « the Forge goes to 3500 »

WOW!! 😛

Well, please correct me if i got it all wrong but my guess would be that this actually implies a 30 Watts output every second for a total duration of 20 seconds if dealing with the DynaVap. By the way, 600 Joules is ~20 % more than i once evaluated when comparing its probable heat budget to that of my customized VG Hybrid Core in 2020 (~100 Joules after accounting for conversion losses, or between 83.6~206.6 Joules considering the lack of IH experimentation).

Then we can infer a ~150 Watts (146.66) output requirement with the Anvil when pre-heated for 15 seconds, so i figure the maximum allowable power output of a Vader effectively ranges around 238.64 Watts, which roughly corresponds to the 240 Watts "headroom" as previously announced - not to mention e-Cig gear is typically limited to a mere 100 Watts or so...

That makes sense at last, and that's not all! Apparently the very same manufacturer, who already sells vaporizers, also happens to work on a fresh-new model featured with "bio-availability" (1h02m59s) destined to out-perform Enrico Bouchard's Sublimator!! According to the interviewed person it will be known as the 'Tornado' (1h00m33s) and that's IH-optimized, so maybe those of us blessed with deep pockets may wish to wait and see if that's going to be available in time for the next holidays!!

🎄

Too bad we ain't got more detailed news for weeks, fingers crossed.

P.S.: Now i've really got to wonder, will this prove compatible with the 'Tempest' of Mad Scientist? ...

Update:

Here's a teaser posted on Instagram earlier today:
Vestratto Tornado 3250 Joules 2024 Aug 28 360x550

Using Vestratto's Vader/Forge its pre-heat time should range below 15 seconds at full power. This is the descriptive text that came with it:

www . instagram . com/p/C_ONqutPtWi/
Vestratto Tornado

Formally introducing The Tornado a new Flagship Product in the Vestratto Line.

The Tornado features a secondary atomizer that breaks larger vapour droplets down into a finer fog which helps improve bioavailability.

Powered by an Internal CopperCore with magnetic steel casing to allow for heat experimentation.

Air flow on the Tornado is regulated directly at bowl level. The Hexagonal grip on the bowls allows for easy insertion, removal and adjustment.

The Tornado also utilizes a new Herb Chamber that is 55% larger than the ThermoCore’s XL Bowl.

For Forge Users, the Tornado has 20% more thermal mass than an Anvil and requires 3250 Joules to achieve a double click and full soak.

Units may have small variations while we are still producing small batches.

All 4/20 pre-orders will be shipped a full Tornado including: a 14MM WPA, the Tornado and the new Herb Chamber!

Good day, have fun!! ☮️

Update #2:

Even more news! The cost been set to 208 $ US, so if we add an IH driver as the Vestratto Vader/Forge, or even the Camouflet Inductor, plus optional accessories, then that's going to be around 600 $ US, tax not included i guess...

More news and those ain't so good for those who thought it would be ready this Christmass:

Let's Talk Tornado - Live Interview w/John from Vestratto (2024-Dec-8)
43:24 « ...rev. one is the board on the left... »

Rev. 1 was marked 'Nov. 2023' and rev. 2 'Sept. 2024', so that's 10 months for the addition of « every piece of protection » to "dynamic coupling adjustment":
Vestratto Forge rev 1 2 2024 Dec 8 600x360

Then there's this:

47:08 « ...we had put a hundred units out there... »
47:12 « ...to a certain extent we thought we were done, but... »
47:15 « ...we found out afterwards, when we introduced the Tornado, that with this dynamic coupling... »
47:23 « ...we can brick the unit! »
47:24 « ...so we asked people, we really told people... »
47:29 « ...you can use it with the Anvil, that seems to be fine... »
47:32 « ...but that heavier Tornado, please don't use it! »

Which evokes these 2 questions to the very least: #1) Why was "dynamic coupling adjustment" only included after rev. 1?; #2) Will it take another 10 months to reach rev. 3?

In any case the symptom sure sounds quite similar to what was reported with the Mazzilli "modules" where no protection was present at all.

In conclusion, the good news is that Vestratto's Vader/Forge will get sturdier if/when rev. 3 is finally ready and ALL of its failures modes been investigated thoroughly until counter-measures are proven reliably effective.

I dunno about the next 4-20 but lets keep hoping Halloween '25 shall happen to be about right for its grand inauguration.

Good day, have fun!! 🎄
