Also dont be afraid to wash your buds if you see them, put some hydrogen peroxide with water in 1 bucket, 1:10 ratio should do, some people go 1:5 (water to hydrogen peroxide 3% ratio), those fuckers will detach, then you rinse them on a second bucket and even a third of pure water preferably osmosis. Trichomes are hydrophobic which means they create a film in between them and water so it doesnt really damage them. You might knock off a pistil or 2 while summerging them but thats totally fine, a pistil lost is better than smoking mites 🤣
EDIT: Also dry them with a fan until all the excess moisture is gone.

I think the clay he is refeering too is the expanded clay pebbles visible on top of the substrate, also known as arlite. I use them too is better than perlite for oxigenation! And I put a bunch on the bottom too so I have an inside drainage system in the pot.
Other than that yes to everything, listen to this guy because he knows a fucking ton, he will get your plants going in no time if you listen to him and give the info he is asking
Is that your first grow? If so thats impressive man, the buds do really look fire I just hope the micromites dont ruin the taste, maybe consider an early chop if you see them fuckers. The buds seem fairly mature anyway.
Huh micrometers?

Huh micrometers?
Hahaha no, micromites! Theyre like mites but much more small. All the yellow spots seem like insect bites but you cant see any insect right? Indoors micromites are common and they are slow but can end up colonizing your whole plant. Many times they dont have time to do so, so its only a few leaves affected. There are different subspecies that look different but they look something like this with slight variations:

I don’t know I ll add some calcium. Does look like bugs. It s my first grow. I’ll take a leaf to the local plant store.

Hey man, just make sure that whatever store you take the leaf to that it doesn’t you know have any bugs or anything on it because you could infest whatever stuff they have there with that leaf just make sure that’s in a bag that Ziploc but that’s definitely not calcium.
So look man, you know for being a new grower are you doing a good job and generally I like to tell people that as long as you’re looking at mistakes with the right eyes, they’re not really mistakes. They’re just learning what not to do next time you keep diligent notes on certain things if you plan on running the same cultivar again if you change it up and you go to a different strain, just know that some of the dynamics are going to change with the strain Hit us up man you know we just wanna see everybody do good

And sooner or later, you will have to get a Loupe! Or some kind of magnification! And look at the underside of the leaves! It’s just part of the tool kit you will have to put together!

Welcome! Im very glad that you quited alcohol and decided to move to the realm of weed, much more healthier for you and everyone around you! And finding a new hobby like growing always helps a ton, specially if you like it, its therapeutical to work with plants. And then smoking them 🤣
Lots of good growers in here that will help you, fear not, they will guide you when you dont know something.
I don’t know when to harvest them. Or do I just let them grow. This is what they look like today.

Pistils are already curling on the bud, the only white pistils are on the top probably from newer growth. Considering how theyre looking I would chop them now before whatever is affectinng the leaves gets more into the bud leafs. But thats just my opinion. Maybe they could use a week more or a little bit less but when theyre not healthy sometimes I dont wait until peak harvest time because is counterproductive. Tough call really.

when you buy dirt never buy from outside storage.they are almost 90% infested with mites or other stuff

I struggled with alcohol for a while too, but I got help, and taking a break really made life feel more steady. It’s not always easy, but focusing on the bigger picture definitely helps.

If you ever run into rough patches, or just want to learn about long term sobriety, I believe at Abbeycare there’s some decent support and info that might be helpful for people trying to stay on track.
