I've been running NFTG pushing seven years now and never thought the day would come that Scott's business would be coming to an end.
Tough times in Oregon for them as they just closed their last store Oregon's Constant Gardener and Scott will be looking at doing something new in the future.
I asked him if he will continue making his nutrients but it doesn't look promising. There is still a stock on the market at various shops but for those that want to continue with Nectar will have to buy up what little stock they can find and then start looking at what they will use in the future.
It's just a damn shame but a sign of the times. My best grows have come from using their line and I will miss Nectar, the OCG Fam show,Bob,and the rest of the NFTG family.
Such a great group of people and product. I wish them all well. As for Scott I'm sure whatever he does will turn to gold and I am very grateful to call him my friend.

This is straight from the shipping manager:
There has been a lot of this going around because we shut down our retail store.
While we are downsizing here at Nectar, we are still manufacturing fertilizers and have plenty of inventory.

They only closed the store :) hope this helps.....also Tritons Trawl has been VERY hard to buy as of late so if you use that and see it in stock I would def buy some he also said this about it:
Triton's Trawl will not be coming back.
The materials we were able to source were not high enough quality to make a stable product.
Hope this helps any confusion on anything! :)

I heard the store was closing but it was still such a drag to see that it was actually gone. They will be missed. But I can understand wanting to focus on their product line. Still a bummer driving by and seeing it empty tho.

Well that's good news! Must be from Christopher I'm guessing. Sucks about Triton's Trawl as I love the flavors from it even though it smells like death. Thank you for sharing that information!

Well, that last bit of news was making me hopeful but Scott has sent out a message to all of Nectarfam and Oregon's Only will end at the end of 2025 officially. Sad news indeed, nothing but respect for Scott, the company, and the family of loyal growers they produced.

Nectarfam,
From Scott D Ostrander
“Hey Andrew and everyone Sorry for the delay and the email hassles and the lack of responses on my end. We got your inquiry and this year after losing our source of recycled food grade barrels, we have decided to discontinue the 55 gallon drum size.
The costs of the new barrels have made the price increase that would need to be implemented on that size package to high to remain profitable, it is now cheaper to purchase in 5 gallon sizes.
We have been producing this years inventory through out the fall and early winter and are now facing some hard decisions about our futures a company. Although we have produced a seasons worth of nectar, we may get priced out of the market this year and that may cause our doors to close by the end of the season. We have spent the past three years holding on in a declining market with declining sales. Distributors who no longer stock the products and only offer various sizes and only order when stores order.
Nationwide store closures and the inability for stores to buy direct due to freight costs and distance has become a greater challenge each season.
Being a small guy in this industry, and a company who decided to hold onto our recipes rather than sell out to Hawthorne, Monsanto or Hydrofarm, we decided that we are going to go down with the ship.
We are making another batch of herculean next week. A fresh batch of Zeus. And are discussing the possibility of producing a one time batch of oneshot for the season. The downfall is that the cost to operate has become much more expensive and sales are not supporting the new cost increases, so we have been reducing our offerings in the line, eliminating the ones that are not cost-effective or too expensive to produce for the current price.
At the end of 2022, we were offered a buy out pathway from two entities. And when we looked at that with a serious lens, we decided that it would not be in the best interest for the product, the employees and for our brand to be sold to one of these entities. They were simply buying up all the companies they could to control the market. WE decided to hold onto our own keys and continue to do it our way. In doing so, our distributors become our competitors.
Here is some info most might not know.
Hydrofarm owns Roots Organics, Gaia Green, House and Garden, Heavy 16, and a few more
Hawthorne owns Botanicare (Purblend) General Hydro, Mother Earth, Cyco nutrients.
This is why the distributors wont stock or sell our products. They own their own to support.
They don’t support or stock their competitors products. And that paints us into a negative light.
We have considered downsizing the company but the new finished product prices that we would have to pass onto the customers would be so drastic that it would drive many more growers away from us over the next couple of years. We have only raised our prices one time in the past 18 years and that was three years ago and the response was very negative. Many complaints and many attacks calling us greedy and big corporate profit gouging. Over the 18 years of production, as we grew, our purchasing power become stronger and we kept the savings in the price and would not increase it to our supporters, but now, with the new costs for 2025, we just can’t afford absorb them and the increase would be drastically high.
So Frank and I have decided to call it quits at the end of the 2025 season and sell off our buildings and move on to a new venture. Frank is ready to retire and live out his days experimenting and trying to get the universities to see the results of what he has been creating. The amount of technology that we have invested in and science that has been researched through our company makes it impossible to want to sell out the brand to a Monsanto or Hydrofram or any of them. We will take our recipes to our graves and the company itself will simply dissolve.
We are currently trying to earn enough through sales and the selling of our buildings to buy out our remaining employees to give them a very nice pension plan. But the past few years has gobbled up a lot of cash flow. I have not taken a paycheck from Oregons Only in two years, to allow our staff to stay employed and making things . And we are finally going to an end.
This news won’t ,make any fans and we simply just want to keep plugging away until we run out of money and or nutrients. We feel that 18 years of doing business the way that we wanted to do buisness has been accomplished and we didn’t have to sacrifice quality ethics, morals or anything that would make us hold our heads in shame. We stand tall and proud for who we are and what we have done in the industry.
We had the most amazing customer base and supporters over the years and we truly hate to disappoint those who rely on us. But we can only do this for free for so long and we are tired of trying so hard for a tiny piece of the pie.
We hope to make it through until the end of the season. And we hope for a speedy sale of the buildings that we built over the years come this fall.
Right now, I am telling larger farms that are doing full term outdoor to go and check out my Friend at GreenGro Growers And Mark about his system and how that can benefit you. He will be able to support larger outdoor grows better than we can this year.
Build-a-soil is also a great resource for making your own concoctions and soil recipes.
I am going to copy and paste this into the group page as well so I don’t have to type this heart breaking news twice. This past 6 months have been extremely hard with closing down our retail store of 18 years. Laying off employees who have been with us for 15;16;17 years…..They truly are like family. Now to face this challenge on how to get to the end with Nectar and our employees has been nothing shy of heart wrenching and depressing.
This has been a very emotional 12 months as my partners and I have been trying to figure out what to do and what is best for us. Seeing that there is no light on the horizon after three years of hemorrhaging money, this is the best thing for us. We will simply fade out and disappear. Got one last season in us.”

I purchased 10 gallons each of four of their product lines , 7 months ago - for 400.00 .
I have Medusa , Herculean , Zeus juice and one other “can’t remember the name right now . I used quite a bit of it last year on an outdoor grow , with phenomenal results . I believe their nutrients really brought out the terps in my grow , and was some of the tastiest outdoor I ever grew - along with topping out at 26.9% . I planned to purchase some more of their stuff before spring , but looks like I’ll be SOL. Same thing happening with earth juice - loved their nutrients and the price point was phenomenal .

Here’s a few pics - from some NOTG fed ladies . If anybody knows of some other nutrients that are similar and produce high quality tasty flower lmk ..

Just finding out about this. My bottles are running low so I went to Oregon's Constant Gardener site to order up. They're blowing out the remaining inventory at 75% off. I'll order some of what's left in stock. In my experience, NFTG liquid products are not stable for more than about a year, so not going to order gallons. They're sold out of Herculean Harvest. But they've still got One Shot.
