I'm at the end of week 9 of flowering, and about to go away for 6 days. One of my Bubblegum x Fat Hog looks almost ready! Should I harvest tomorrow before I go, or leave it a week , until I get back?

I've not checked ripeness by looking at trichomes before, so any advice is appreciated! I can see cloudy and clear but no amber on the buds. I think...

These look perfect, letting them go any longer than this just comes down to personal preference - the longer you let them go, the more amber the trichomes get; the more amber the trichomes are, the more "couch lock" the smoke will give you

Thanks! That's what I wanted to hear! 😁 I can't wait to harvest!!

I'm thinking of harvesting my 4 plants at slightly different times to experiment with the couch lock effect, and see what I prefer

Ya don’t wanna harvest to early Id wait a bit untill them hairs shrivel into the bud they chuck a lot of weight on in the last couple weeks u don’t wanna rip yourself off I reckon 6 more days be perfect that’s just my opinion but yea harvest at different times n find out what ya like good plan👍 buds look wicked to mate

Thanks! I guess if I wait another 6 days it won't be too late.... So I should probably wait

Like u said before u could always take this 1 now and then take the others a bit later n c which u like better it’s up to you Man your the grower and they look like you’ve done a wicked job with them👍

I'm back and glad I didn't harvest before I went, as the buds are looking fatter and more ripe!

Still not seeing amber trichomes on the flowers, so gonna leave it a little longer... Week 11 started yesterday, and I'm learning to be patient!

I can’t tell if they are actually turning amber or if it’s just the leaves? Seems like a lot of white still to harvest? First grow, any and all opinions welcome!

I see partly cloudy, it could go another 4 weeks depending on how much amber you prefer.

The less amber in the trichomes the more uplifting the high is...sativas can be very racy and can cause paranoia when harvested early.

The more amber the more couch lock it is. An indica harvested at 50% amber may very well put you to sleep.

The earlier you harvest the less it will weigh. Up to 20% of the total weight can be added or lost in the last 2 weeks.

They are both indicas that I have in flower. I would prefer it be a chill relaxing high and not necessarily put me to sleep. The high is definitely way more important to me than the weight, but a happy medium would be cool. I’ll give it another week and update and see where she’s at!

Look for about 20% amber trichs, should be right around where you want to be.

Thanks man, I appreciate it! I need to get a better way to look too, cus the iPhone camera isn’t cutting it. Probably snag a usb microscope off Amazon that has decent reviews.
