Dave,

I’m a new grower in eastern Massachusetts. I have a 4 x 4 by 8 foot Grow tent. Most of the components are from AC Infinity. The Grow light is from Grow pro.

Once I get your email back, I’d be happy to share my cell phone. I’m 66 years old and doing this to help myself and my neighbors who suffer from chronic osteoarthritis.

I would start over, unless that was some unforgettable weed them seeds came from. Use it as a learning experience, the seeds were free. Rebuild the soil as recommended above and move onto your next grow. For me it’s hard to let go of plants but in some situations it’s necessary, and if you have a compost pile then it’s not so bad they are being put to use.
I’m at a point I have to prove to my wife I can do it. I feel like if I can get them somewhat healthy I can flip them and get a little herb.

Hi, Dave

Doug from MA here.

Could we connect via Telegram?
I need help. I have these girls in 30 gallon mineral tubs with relatively new soil. I actually mixed it early last year, but these are the first plants in it. It is a build a soil amendment kit from build a soil with peet, perlite, bagged compost, worm castings and a small bag of biochar w/ mico. The compost, castings, and biochar were all from Walmart. The plants came from a couple bag seeds. They have had stress on all levels, but I haven’t been able to get them to come back this time. We had a spider mite infestation that was fixed with foliage spraying and environment control (lower temps, higher humidity). Temps and humidity have been an ongoing problem and I have had to settle for lower temps to get my VPD right (1.2-1.4). The soil is overwatered (I have pulled most of the mulch trying to get some evaporation. They have been too dressed with build a flower, craft blend. They have also had a compost tea with build a flower, big 6 and some worm castings. They popped on oct 21st or so.

They are under a mars hydro tsw2000
F.L. is around 15, (for various reasons the lights have been turned down.)

What should I do?
Dave, could we use the Telegram App channel to connect?

I’d fix your own problems before trying to fix others.

One of your plants must be drowning its so wet

There’s literally a puddle of water on the floor not good
You should keep it cleaner your inviting diseases. Especially with the overwatering

Hi, Dave. Been dealing with a family member's hospice care. ¶ I'm back. I'm starting over and moving EVERYTHING to the basement. I'm going to port the exhaust out a hole in a new plexiglass basement window that I will cut myself.¶ how are things with you Dave? My grow tent is 4x4x8. Most components are AC Infinity.

This is my dream setup when and if I ever get my 4x4 raised bed setup in the backyard. Just the dam summers are killer here. It's doable though we have farms ...and I mean farms of cannabis all around here in the valley. Been meaning to poke my head in one of them farms but probably get shot at if I approach them .. 🤣
I built my layer like this in my 4x4 bed in a 5x5 tent. It works extremely well. I did the same in my 15 gallon pots in one of my 2x4s. If you plan on doing living soil in pots it is a must.

Let them dry way back. Get a eco wit moisture meter. I think once they dry out a bit they will take off. When they do you can start watering again. Get a pump sprayer and water slower. Next time you mix soil don’t use perlite. For living soil pumice is a better option. It will remain more neutral in the soil and won’t migrate to the top like perlite.

some locals turned me on the Horizontal Soil System last year and I can see this useful in a forever pot. I'll get there eventually, I'm still playing musical pots at the moment. Picking up pots full of rocks.... ouch.

I had to change my tent with the 4x4 bed. There is 200lbs of rock and San in the bottom. I had to dig it all out. Luckily I knew how deep I ad made my layers and was able to seperate them and reassemble it in the new tent.

I get it. My plants have been a mirror image of my marriage. Life has a tendency to interfere with gardening. My plants are doing much better.

I think I am going to set one of these 30’s up that way next time. I think k I’m also going to switch to 13 gallon cloth pots

Currently doing much better. I have a cheap soil ph/moisture/temp etc. meter. I think if I push enough buttons it reads the soil emotion. Kidding but it is a reference anyway. It is currently showing “wet+” at about 6” deep. I have good drainage and some 3-4” creek rock in the bottom. I used perlite because it’s what I had (free). I used perlite a cheap 2 gallon garden sprayer that I water with, I just overdid it!!

Pumice vs. rice hulls and no till, what’s your opinion. Also consider I am going to setup using the E A O method (whatever it’s called, I’m smoking and too lazy to go back and look right now 😂

How big is the tent your 4x4 is in?
