I can’t use the jewelers loop for the life of me. Need a better way to know when my plants are ready to harvest.

I can’t use the jewelers loop for the life of me. Need a better way to know when my plants are ready to harvest.

Hey guys, so this is a auto flower and feb 7 will be it’s 11 weeks

I really struggle to know how close I am to harvest. I know you’re supposed to tell by the Tricom, but the thing is I struggle to view the tricomes I’ve given up on a jewelers loop fully does anyone have a better way to view them?

Is there a way to tell if I’m almost ready to harvest other than by the trichomes?


This is my third or fourth, when I’m really happy with how this plant is turning out one issue with her before with another plant was that I waited too long to harvest and the weed started deteriorating

What phone you have i can get some pretty good pics of thricomes with iphone 15 pro

Looking at the trichomes through a loop works for me, but you can purchase a digital scope that gets a closer look.
Other factors to consider when a plant is done. Pistols brown and receding, and slower water consumption of the plant.

I found a larger jewelers loop that came with a trim kit I purchased. I have the traditional style that swings out of the case (smaller viewing lens). But this new one I got slides out from the end and has about twice the size lens! It’s way easier to use. Let me get it out and take a picture for you. If you dont hear back reach out! I get busy and forget lol! ✌️

whats the problem with the juwlers loop. you buy the one with a phone clip and you zoom on your phone

So maybe not “twice as big” lol. Buts its easier to hold and I do put it under my phone and hold them together and get a good viewing of trichomes. Getting pics is harder for sure, but at least getting in there to see has become easier : )

If your phone has a magnifier app, that can take good close-up pics. You might need to brace it against something. If that, or a bigger loupe, doesn't work, there are wifi microscopes that do a nice job. That's what I use.

Sorry for the double post! I just downloaded a magnifying glass app per ArtfulCodger and WOAH!😳 havent played with viewing plants yet, just the keyboard on my iPad. You can freeze the screen image and zoom in on that and it seemed pretty clear without distortion. Thanks for that recommendation dude! ✌️
