when to put seedlings out , long island n.y.

i started germinating seeds april 5 and now have about 10 seedlings under lights and on a warming mat. daytime temps are pretty steady in the high 60`s and night low 50`s.they are all pretty leggy but are starting to sprout some new leaves. i`m guessing i`m still a month away from pu
When to put seedlings out long island ny
tting them in the ground. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Eastern long island here. I haven’t started my seeds yet. Probably this weekend. I figure I’ll have mine in ground about end of may. So I think you are right on schedule. I take mine in and out at night, no lights except that giant one that goes on every morning. Good luck. What part of the island?

I grew up in Nassau co! See how they look on the 15th. Gotta get them acclimated slowly too can't just toss them under full sun from an indoor light. A week later they should be ready to go.

Put some more earth in the pots and the plants are less leggy.

I'm around Ottawa and rule of thumb is end of May to put plants out here. That's usually when the last frost finishes.
