So like I can't remember a plant having double sets of leaves. This seedling has two sets of one blade first true leaves.
It may also have duplicate three blade leaves I shall see.

What I read is that this was most likely a twin which joined and became one seedling.

Any opinions? I thought maybe chemical effect from feminizing.
Personally I can't remember such a thing nor have I read of such.

Google is now AI anyway
1. Polyembryony and Twin Seedlings:
  • The phenomenon of two seedlings emerging from a single cannabis seed is known as polyembryony, meaning "multiple embryos".
  • This can happen when more than one embryo develops within the seed or when a fertilized ovum splits, resulting in multiple embryos.
  • Essentially, you're getting "twins" from a single seed, each with its own set of cotyledons (seed leaves) and first true leaves.

Can't say I've seen that, do you have any pics? The only thing I have ever had like that is some white widow back around 2000 with three sets of leaves instead of two.

I'll snap pictures in their morning. Lights out for now.

Yeah, I want to use in a seeding so this is questionable. I am thinking effects of using chemicals to force pollen but that doesn't jive with what Google says and then I thought.. Have I ever seen such a thing? I mean some plants have issues at first when they have been feminized but that is never two sets of first true leaves so the twin embryo idea might be true. So thought to ask.

Okay Pictures in their morning.

What is meant by three leaves, must be a common thing...these images were on the web.

Here is what I am seeing. Two sets of first true leaves and would you believe it is already branching?

First twin treu leaves

Yes I see it needs nitrogen. She got some Tea and will get uppotted to final size when the soil dries out a bit.
So the question I have is this an effect of feminizing or is it, as Google AI thinks, a merging of two embryo into one seedling.
Naturally by using "her" for breeding, which I am, I am concerned with offspring because if we have a problem we have to "Keep them Separated." Sorry couldn't resist the humor

Oh hey.. It's also doing the Popeye.. Skinny butt and legs and bulked up top. Now that suggests Polyploidalism to me.

AI Overview

"Polyploidal" refers to having multiple complete sets of chromosomes, more than the two typically found in diploid organisms. This condition, called "polyploidy," arises from whole-genome duplication, which can occur during mitosis, meiosis, or from fertilization by multiple sperm. Polyploidy is common in plants, and also exists in some fish and amphibians.

Stop guessing it, it's a polyploid. Very special keep it happy. You're blessed. I'm jealous lol.

I've studied some on polyploidism and using colchicine (gout med) to create polyploid by soaking seeds in it. For fifty years I've procrastinated over trying the process. Good on you!

Maybe it’s a signal like how swingers use pineapples. It’s just the plants way of telling you it’s down for a threesome 🤣

Well you can have your Polyploid "Pink Triangle-Wedding Cake-Animal Mints" from

Too..

Talk about a Bonus with the Bonus single seed with my order!

Also I thought polyploid was some kind of damaged genetics but it happens in nature with plants so not a F-Up on breeder. Most likely two sperm and one ovum.

Okay so I am in a breeding project here and that thread gets the news.
People prize a polyploid. I am wondering what the F1s will be like between "Lovely Day" and the Wedding Cake?

Dare we say?

The only way you can determine if it is a polyploid is in a lab! So don’t get too wound up! Polyploid is the new popular catchphrase for anything that is out of the ordinary! It’s the latest fad! But good luck!

Had one of these last year. Once it reached about 6-8" tall, it did a 180 and started growing downward instead of up. It was really weird.

Well perhaps the whole breeding project will turn into a Freakinstein who knows.

But I have a really quick to flower Sativa Dom this one gets to merge with.
What I understand is that they both have Pepper scent. I like that.

This is the Spring Fling Seed cycle. Every year I make seeds after winter grow.

What? 😃Like multiple growth and a Neanderthal Skeleton are normal?

No, they’re not normal! But diploids can do them too! They used to be called mutations! Now everyone has jumped on polypoidIsm cause it’s cool! It’s easy to research!

I grew a triploid last year! Which doesn’t mean shit for being able to identify one by site! I relied on Humboldt seed company to be upfront and honest! And the difference between the triploid and non-triploid was hardly noticeable! A few minor variations! But call it what you want!

Had a Gelato seed do that recently
