Should I cut new grow sites? Mainlining cannabis

Should I cut new grow sites off my branches if I'm mainlining? I have 12 main top sites, I was told to continue cutting anything new that grows under that so I can focus energy to the top sites and eventually my colas.

I have 2 plants I'm experimenting with mainlining. I top the plants after the 4th node, then wait for 2. Then top those for 4, then those for 8. I had left 2 bottom branches on since they were my tallest branches but I was debating cutting them but they're pretty thick and some of my tallest branches so that would make for a total of 12 main top sites since I also topped them. My goal was 8 really big, and dense cola sites.
