Wow - I don't know what happened this time around but this is a really bad seed to sprout ratio.
I used one of these.....
This is the only thing that I did differently.
I planted 9 seeds, 2 sprouted. 6 split but did not grow and one did not split at all. I added seed 10, that one sprouted. Hmmmmmm,
I went back to the method that works best for me. I have these little orange plastic pots that seem to be the most fool proof method for me for sprouting success. I planted 4 and so far 3 are busting the surface (autos) and one still working. This is only the start of day 3.
The seeds in the tray are on day 11.
Being that the seeds split I am not sure if they are defective or not. 5 different strains, 2 of each with one being a fast flower and not an auto (solo seed).
I thought the pop up bottom would be an easy transfer. Nope, they break apart too easily and you are left with an exposed root. My red posts old their shape when removing for transplant.
I should have purchased more red pots and not this stupid green house. It may be good for some plants but for marijuana it seems to be a real hit or miss.
These are my red pots.
I use fresh soil for the seeds. Ocean forest seems to be working well. The seeds seem to like the nutrients in this soil. This is 48 hours, Royal Queen seeds, Apple Fritter Auto, Norther Lights Auto and Epsilon F1 (2 of these seeds split in the green house but have not grown). I moisten the soil lightly from the top down then add about a 1/4" water in the tray to bottom feed. Then bottom feed until ready to transplant letting them dry a little beforehand. Lightly moistened soil hold its form the best for me. I can get them to slid out fairly easily.
I have 2 more pots to add seeds to. No place to start them LOL. I am not going to chance more loss in that little green house thing.
I was going to have a nice balance with 2 plants per strain now everything is off balance not only in strains but time as well. This is going to be a tricky placement organization so the ones to finish first are closet to the entry.
Well, the goal of this grow was to use up some seeds. Smaller pots and more plants. Mission accomplished, 7 seeds were a total loss. At least some were freebies from the purchase of others. The Epsilon F1 was one I paid for and it is a more expensive seed even on sale . LOL. At least I have one and get to try it. It does sound good. I will chalk up the bad ratio on the green house and if it ends up good give it another try. Sprout to harvest in 60 days. This should be interesting.
