FWIW I initially thought ph too. Checked the rez, and it jumped from 6.0 to 6.5 over the past few days.

It’s not a municipality.

When we bought the home, the disclosure said “well water.” I was thrilled.
Post closing we found out it’s a “shared well” that is maintained by a private company, and we get a bill every month. But it’s septic. Worst of both worlds.

Water was reading ~300ppm. Then we started getting a bunch of air bubbles coming through the line. The company said they were doing maintenance. A couple trucks showed up. Then we got a notice not to drink the water for a few days as they had to shock the lines. Just smelled of chlorine. A few days after that the water was reading closer to 150ppm.

I don’t know if there was stuff in the lines before, or if they punched a new well, or if they started treating it when they weren’t before. I don’t know.
I’m on well water. It’s is so freaking hard. It phs at a 9. So had to have an RO system. I won’t even drink the well water from tap.

Day 110 (Day 60 Flowering)

12/12 light, 70% intensity.
75 deg F temperature (lights are off)
Keeping humidity under 50% (57% at the moment)
1.29 VPD
0 ml Silica / 1 tsp CalMag / 2 tsp MB Mix / 1.5 tsp Epsom Salt / 2 tsp CalNitrate (all per 5 gallons), ph to 6.0 (tap water), 850 ppm tds

The little gal is poking her head around the corner. Meanwhile, the big gal’s buds got so heavy, it ended up sprawling out like an octopus. I let it go for a little bit like this, mainly because I thought I would harvest soon. But also probably because I was lazy. Well, the sprawl ended up intensifying. Unfortunately it looks like I lost at least one bud by delaying. So I grabbed some rope and tied it back together, at least temporarily.

Buds are looking nice. Terps are probably 80% cloudy from what I can see, but no amber yet. Once I start seeing some amber, I’ll chop them both down and begin the dry/cure.

Day 117 (Day 67 Flowering)

12/12 light, 70% intensity.
91.6 deg F temperature (lights are on)
Keeping humidity under 50% (52% at the moment)
2.41 VPD
Tap water (ph to 6.0), 170 ppm tds

Still plugging along. Not done, but getting closer.

Switched to tap water, although I may have done it too soon. I definitely didn’t think this strain would go to 10 weeks of flowering :S

I’m not, overall, really happy with these two strains. It was a test run, which is fine. One of the plants is tiny as crap. The other plant is massive, which is nice, but resin production seems pretty low, and aroma is pretty light. And, going 10 weeks+ is pretty much unacceptable for a CBD strain. But we’ll see what their effects are.

*Insert Taps Bugle Music*

Found some mildew on one of the buds this morning. Sad.
It might not be fully visible in the pic, but it was inside the bud. I poked it a little to make sure it wasn’t something else.

I visually inspected the other buds, and didn’t see anything on any of them. But didn’t touch them, as I had just poked mildew, and didn’t want it to spread.

Cut off that bud, weighed in at 2 oz wet, before chucking it in the compost.

Could have just been sitting in a deadzone of the tent. Maybe lesson learned to get a second air circulation fan in there.

But also, pretty disappointed in the AI programmer from AC Infinity. I tried it out, setting a temp range of 65-85F, and a humidity range of 35-55%. Temps regularly get up to 91F, despite the setting, but the AI is keeping the ventilation fan at a setting of 2 (out of 10). I don’t know why. Meanwhile, humidity often sits around 52% with the lights on, and climbs up to 65% with the lights off. Meanwhile, the ventilation fan doesn’t seem to kick on (despite the fact that the lung room is 78F and 35% RH).

Personally, I feel like I could have done a much better job programming the controller to maintain more consistent temps and humidity levels. Although, maintaining a low humidity level in the lung room has required the dehumidifier to run, which pushes up the temps more than I would have liked. But, 90F when the max setting is supposed to be 85F seems very excessive for the AI programmer. I could understand if humidity was low and temp was high, or humidity was high and temps were low, as it wouldn’t want to cycle more air and sacrifice temperature for humidity, or vice versa. But both are high, and the controller isn’t doing anything to stop it.

Well, lessons learned I guess. I’m going out of town for a few days, and will have to chop when I return (whether they’re done or not, it’ll be going on 10 weeks, which is kinda my stopping point anyway, even though they look like they should be done by then).

Day 124 (Day 74 Flowering)

Day 124

Day 124 2

Chopped today.

Sadly found some mold growing in the main cola. At 10.5 weeks of flowering, I wasn’t willing to let it go much longer, and let the PM spread more.

Day 124 4

You can see the PM poking through from the center.

Oddly the PM appeared to be showing up at locations that should have had the best airflow, and the lowest RH. Such is life I guess.

Day 124 3

I ended up with a bunch of popcorn bud that, honestly, I didn’t feel like curing. I already have way more CBD than I’ll be able to use before it goes bad. So chucked the rest of it in the composter.

Day 124 5
Day 124 6

I was pretty pleased with the growth of the large one. Pretty disappointed with the growth of the small one. Not sure if it was an odd seed with that one, or the line sucks.

Day 124 7

Currently drying. Turned the AI programmer off. Set the exhaust fan to keep temps below 75F, and humidity below 58%, and set the humidifier to keep humidity above 50%. Everything else is off.

Lessons learned, so far:
1. Problem: I wasn’t really pleased with the aroma and resin content of either plant. They were fine, but not pungent or sticky like I enjoy from good homebud.
Solution: I’m going to try some different nutes, and some different strains next time, doing a side by side comparison.
2. Problem: The big plant got way too big, and left so much extra, unusable (to me) popcorn lower buds, that weren’t ready, and were tiny AF.
Solution: I won’t be vegging as long going forward, and will more heavily prune to keep focus on the larger colas.
3. Problem: PM
Solution: I won’t be trusting AI to dial things in going forward. I’ll be setting everything through automation directly. I also plan on changing my exhaust set up. Currently I’m not exhausting outdoors. I’ll be changing that soon.
4. Problem: Plants took 10.5 weeks to flower, and didn’t show any amber trichs (although more than 90% were cloudy).
Solution: Try some different strains. I don’t have an issue running an 11 or 12 week strain, if it’s worthwhile. But the resin content wasn’t fantastic, and that was way too long to wait for what I think was “meh” resin content. And, with the current setup, the longer I run the greater the issue I get with PM risk. So shorter, at this point in time, is probably better.

I may think of more later. But that’s what I got now :)

Drying is now complete, and curing has started.

I ended up finding some more PM in some of the buds that were drying, although it doesn’t look like it spread much. After discarding all the contaminated, or potentially contaminated buds, I ended up with 403 grams from the big plant, and close to 31 grams from the small plant.

The small plant was largely a waste of time. But I knew it when it was growing.

I’m overall pretty stoked that I ended up with 403 grams, or roughly 14 ounces, off one plant, in my “shake off the cobwebs” grow. Especially considering that I tossed a bunch of the smaller popcorn buds, and some of the large colas due to PM.

We’ll how well the buds smoke though.
