can i just rip it out and toss it aside or do i have to cover it or burn it so the pollen doesn`t release?

I just ripped them and throw them! If you don’t have any flowering females, then you don’t have to worry about any pollen! If you do, then you have to be a little more careful and get them as far away as possible, and maybe cover them up with something until they are good and dead!
they have been known to give one last gasp pollen release when laying on top of a compost pile! But the window for that is pretty short!
