It will work, it’s a bit small for 8 sq ft. (About 25 watts/sq ft. ). If you can afford a 300+, you’d have plenty of power, and could dim it down. I’d look at the G4500 (320w).

I'll just echo what @Phyto said. I started with an SF2000 in my 2x4 and upgraded after one run to something with more power and better coverage.

DO NOT BUY THIS LIGHT!!!! Spider faker uses false advertisement saying this is for a 2x4 tent. I just bought it and it barely lights a 2x3 area. I tested it on a 2x4 grid with a PPFd meter and it does not match their advertised numbers at all. It only lights properly in the very center of the light (which is about 28" wide). Everywhere else is way below the ppfd numbers they advertise. I tried to return it and they just argued with me saying my tent was too big. One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with and I will NEVER buy from them again.

I have a 250W ViparSpectra XS2500 in my 2x4 tent. It's currently flowering two plants at about 60%. This is the second time I've flowered with it. It seems to do well. I plan for 30W per square foot, but I don't recall ever actually using that much power.

I’m not as experienced as others here. I’ve been using a SF 2000 in a 2x4 for a couple years now. Love it. I Would recommend it to any new grower. 💪✌️💨

The thing is guys this is a very easy thing to prove and a light manufacturer has no real incentive as a long term business to do crap like this.
It gets known stuff like this gets around.
I use Vivosun lights. This company gives more than enough rope to hang themselves if the claims were false. They give light ppfd. They give the efficiency of the bulbs. They give the count of the bulbs. They give the spectrum of the bulbs. And they give you a ppfd map for your distance above tops .
So I used a 338bt tool and used the 3500k spectrum choice. The app lets you make a map. It was 8% off due to spectrum choice but the pattern of strong to weak was spot on.
Then I broke out the calculator and mathed it out. X amount blue at 2.87 efficiency x amount of red/white it's not a real long process just pisses me off that there is not an APP FOR THAT.
.5% off
Then I asked a hydroshop to loan me a ppfd tool. It was yellow and was $300 and had a Bluetooth link so you could put the eyeball in the tent and read it from outside.
Spot freaking on.
So long story short If I was to make a statement on a public boards about the energy documentation of a product I would be very careful to be correct. There are laws that cover this as you did not make a generalized statement that " this light sucks "
You made the statement " It does not match their advertised numbers at all".

first grow I've used a vivosun vs1000 and it did ok but i'm gonna up the number of plants..what does everyone think about a Spider Farmer SF-2000 (200W)
I been running one as. Supplemental light for a few months.

It holds its own well, have zero complaints all told.
Quality build. Great coverage for a plate,
Don’t go over 40% in veg.
Keep it high. It’s got some kick.

You’ll be happy for sure. 👊🏻🤡

I've been using a SF2000 in a 2x4 since 2020 and I have had good results. The following images show the end phase of grows from 2023,

So, I can't bad mouth the sf2000. I remember reading about how the testers/influencers said it didn't really cover the sides of a 2x4 but that has not been a issue. It does the job. Not saying it's the best since I've only ever used this one light but for 5 years I've never run out of weed to smoke and I'm always happy with the buzz. Delighted to recommend the SF2000.

I have an apogee sp500 that I have confirmed is accurate. I stand behind what I posted above. There are no laws against stating your opinion. Its America where free speech is just that, free.
