Hi if I’m running 18/6 does it matter the times I’m turning it off are different each day long as it’s getting the 6 hours is that okay or does it have to be same time every day ?

You can turn it off whenever. I ran my veg light cycle at 6 hours on and 2 hours off three times a day and the plants loved it. Kept my heat down as well.

You should invest in a timer though. Are you growing autoflower or photoperiod? If photoperiod you will definitely need a timer.

Auto flower mate my first grow

I’ve ran it 18 on 6 off all the way from seed to where I am now at week five any tips for me guys
Hows the plant look. I grow photos, but my understanding of autos, once they sprout, the clock is ticking, 18/6 or 12/12. Not my cup O tea. Hopefully someone better than I can say for sure.

Wel
You are all good then. Autoflowers do not require a consistent light schedule. However, an inconsistent light schedule can be stressful for the plants and may slow their growth. Some growers do 24/0 or 20/4 with autoflowers.
l becuse I’ve done 18 /6 all they threw would it b stupid off me to change it 2 20/4 or shall I keep it as it is

A lot of modern research has been saying that anything over 18 hours is essentially wasted and that a dark cycle is beneficial to promote root development and vertical growth.

Personally, I'd stick with 18/6 for the entire grow. Save the energy cost.

Ty happy cropping to you all 🤗

If you're not turning it on and off at the same time you're not running 18/6. There's only 24 hrs in a day. Any change in schedule lengthens or shortens either of those times. Plants love consistency, get yourself a timer.
