What strain is this. It has very long trics and some of these more rare trics we see do not present like normal. They are sure loaded with ice and almost growing on top of each other.
Sweet.

Not yet. Your trichomes don't have a lot of mushroom heads yet and I see zero amber. It's not finished yet.
Copy that. She’s been going for 12 weeks almost but I’ll be patient. Is it hard to tell for first timers or is it pretty obvious?

Depends you want them to be all milky whereas there clear atm

A few prefer some to be amber myself included so it’s part milky with some amber
Some prefer just milky no amber personally I find it’s nicer with a bit of amber as just milky gives you more of a speedy high. A bit of amber gives more of a relaxed high
Higher amounts of amber will make it more of a couch lock high

It will be up to you to find your preference.

How about mine also, I’m not going for an amber look I’m looking for more cloudy.

Nice lookin plant bro. I think most people chop when the trichomes are all cloudy with some amber. If you wait till some amber your giving any clear trichs some extra time to mature while not sacrificing much thc content. That being said some people do prefer a more cloudy/clear ratio as it’s supposed to give a more energetic high. While cloudy is supposed to indicate peak thc content. Amber is signifying the thc is beginning to degrade into cbn which is responsible for the couch lock, super relaxed, munchie kinda high. Also, u want to focus on the trichs that are on the bud itself rather than the leaves. If you have better magnification it’ll make it easier to see. U can get a 30x/60x jewelers loop on amazon for like 10 bucks. But from the pick you send id say your very close. If I were you once I saw like 5 - 10% amber id chop her. I am a new grower tho so if im wrong or leaving something out someone can chime in

Not yet. The pictures you shared are of trichomes on sugar leaves. Since I see zero amber (amber is the guide for the tipping point), I would wait. Since your picture emphasizes sugar leaves and not bud tissue, its really hard to say how close you are to harvest.

Can stress, heat, or other factors cause the trichomes to not mature or form like they should? I noticed a lot of mine seemed to be either amber or clear. With tiny mushroom heads. Is this normal?

I didn't see any amber in yours either. Those mushroom heads will swell even more as your plants ripen. Everything is normal. No issues with what you're doing that I see. It's simply not done just yet.

The picture below is from my last harvest. The plant was harvested about 10 days later. My picture shows even more mushroom heads than yours and still only a very small amount of amber.

Very nice work, but it's not ready yet, waaay too many white pistils. When almost all the pistils are red/brown and curled back into the caylxes, the caylxes will swell, the trichs will get cloudy, with some amber, those are the signs she's ready.

Only you can decide if it's time to chop. I usually go fer 20-30% amber, that's my way. After full cure I am usually 70% amber, which is how I like my smoke. Hope it helps
