Hi all,any ideas what might be the problem here. Running 8 girls in RDWC,seeds from in-house genetics(platinum gelato) Currently 7 weeks since they popped,I have been doing a little mainline on them, stress has not been an issue so I don’t think that as they were thriving 2 weeks ago Plants did get hungry and I have feathered up to 400ppm in the last 2 weeks but since others are loving it Root zone is clean, oxygen is pumping with no notable differences from any other pot in the system Currently running Athena nutes with a ph around 6.2/6.3 and a chilled water zone of 20 degrees Celsius Tent temp is sitting at 26 degrees and 65% humidity and PPFD around the 500 and DLI is good.. They did recently show slight signs of mag def when they got hungry but was quickly corrected. This is my first grow in a long time so I’m a bit lost, and with plans on flipping in the next week I’m a bit concerned about wth is going on with these 2…the bigger one is showing heavier symptoms atm. pics also show the 2 plants sitting right next to them in the exact same environment which were all healthy 2 weeks ago..

BUMP I love your tie down setup, sweet, that's all I have, your inputs and numbers seem great to me, no major identifiable signs to me, as you are well aware mainlining slows growth somewhat, but that doesn't account for some are powering and some not, someone with greater knowledge will help you out, fingers crossed.

Welcome to the farm, I'm a long time hydro grower (rockwool instead of DWC. I've never run Athena nutes).

My opinion is you are way under feeding, ph is too high and they're not getting enough light.

In DWC you must provide everything they require, every watering including calmag.

400ppm is starvation rations used to keep mothers from getting too big. They'll stay nice and green, but barely grow.

At that stage of growth I'll be at 1200-1400ppm at 5.8-6.2 ph
(I wouldn't advise running that high until you're more experienced, maybe 1000-1200)
Hold off on changing much until someone running Athena chimes in.

I'd advise against flipping until you figure out what's going on. Once flipped, keep them on veg formula at least until bud set (2-3 weeks) then switch to a bloom formula.

Do not increase light tho unless everything else is dialed in.

Here is what 7 weeks (49 days) can look like. This is 4 plants in one side of a 4x8 tent. These broke ground on 12/27; pics taken 2/14 (Valentines day lol) Time lapse on 2/9-2/10.

Please post a pic of the Athena feed chart you are using

hydro coco guy here, not rdwc, a second look due to the above insights, that stage, my ec is 1.9 which is 1330ppm (700 scale) and my ppfd is 600-ish, and ph is coco specific 5.6 As they're healthy looking, plus great nute line, I would absolutely focus on Nyarlathotep's words, up the ec, correct the ph, and adjust the ppfd, best of luck.

Are those numbers for RDWC.?
The max ec on the Athena RDWC feed chart is about 1.5 in late flower
I’m already above the feed chart numbers and ph will come down to 6.1 for last stages of veg

But thankyou so much for all the imput guys
Could there be a genetic difference with the seeds.?

People on here have good results with Athena. That being said; I don't like it. ph should increase during flower 5.9-6.4 (if you look at a ph chart you'll see phosphorus Ca & Mg are best absorbed at slightly higher ph. I haven't a clue where Athena gets their numbers. I think @One_Bell uses Athena

I see what your saying and you make sense, but I’ve seen raving reviews with Athena and 6 of the 8 plants are doing good
These 2 were doing good up until 2 weeks ago.
They pumped through the training with no signs of stress
I did have a slight calmag def but it was corrected in the week with an increase and a weak foliage spray..
It seems to be more so since I’ve feathered up the ec,which 6 have responded well too..
It’s weird,at 1st I thought because there closest too the humidifier, but it couldn’t be as really, the others are just as close and the airflow is max

"Could there be a genetic difference with the seeds"
my desire to help is greater than my knowledge to help, I have found across multiple varied strain grows that the same purchase and packet of seeds show some differences in veg growth, with the same inputs and environment, that the individual plants are individual, with branching structure and important here, with growth rate and pre-flip size being different, usually one plant per four or so, genetic seed uniqueness, or a constant mistake on my behalf, unknown.

I am honestly thinking this possibly, they are a cross from gelato 45 and platinum purple candy
And these 2 did seem to show more sativa traits with more purple indications
In with RDWC,different strains just don’t respond the same
So yes it’s possible

But still…why,and what is it.?

...Late veg growth (4 weeks) should be ec around 2-2.5, 1050-1250ppm on 500 scale. Brand of nutrients shouldn't matter.

I think I went through this same type scenario with another Athena user. Don't listen to me until you hear from them. I give seedlings and mothers 400ppm. Athena must be some kind of super nute

the numbers are unbelievable
Keeping in mind it’s RDWC.?
They generally run a lot lower.?

Ps..keep in mind I DONT run co2 environment

You say your other plants are doing fine, but with DWC (hydro), they should be close to the ceiling by now imo

I’ve mainline trained them.
Some I’ve cut 11 tops off in 5 weeks to train out 16 colas too an even canopy…these guys missed some cutting due to there health
It definitely does slow down the veg but the end goal should hopefully improve 🤞

This is about 2 weeks ago

I’ve since cut each top with brings 16 even tops through the net
Just abit of fun trials lol 🤷‍♂️

But I’m lost with these other 2
