What's happening on my beautiful buds?

Hello!
My plants have gone from cute little seedlings to humongous, gorgeous, tall bushes with no problems whatsoever. It's been a hot, dry summer and I fertilize and water. That's it. The tres did get heavy enough to tip.so they've been supported up to the fence with bungee cords.

This week we've had days of sold rain. Suddenly a few of the buds at the top of the tree are browning and seem to be dusty or moldy. I've posted the photo of the healthy bud as a comparison to the *very suddenly* awful looking guy.

Help!!!! Do I need to remove these asap? Do I let them dry out first? It seemed too good to be true!!!! 😭😭 She was such a magnificent beast!!!!!

Thanks for any and all advice/knowledge.

Bummer. Definitly rotten...definitly get rid of anything mushy like that.
Could have been the weather/humidity, couldve been a pest (last year I had a stem boring caterpillar - he'd kill the buds at the base and theyd start to rot)
The plant can handle some small operations to cut out the rotten sections of bud - if you need a few more weeks to finish flowering.

Definitely remove what you need to in order to save your crop but also check your plants thoroughly for worms. Occasionally they’ll bore directly into the bud and the same thing happens. ✌️

There doesn't seem to be a lot but I'm worried with all the wet weather there will be more in the interior. I'm in Southern Ontario, I don't need my weed to knock me on my ass! One plant is Green Crack and the other is either Grease Monkey or Gumdrop Haze (can't remember which)

As long as you have good air flow and the plants are not overgrown you should be okay. Make sure that the ground beneath them doesn’t stay saturated. If you’re close to the finish line and have a gnarly forecast on the horizon you have to make a judgment call if you want to harvest them. That’s the dance with Mother Nature each year.

Thank you. I've removed the rotten bits and propped it up best I could. The rain really knocked her low with a couple broken branches I can see. Sun is out now..... Let's hope for some drying time. I appreciate your help! She really did get super heavy...... Fingers crossed!! One plant seems to have no rot, just needed some picking up and propping. I don't see any caterpillars either.

Nice, I just got some green crack seeds - probably next summer indoor crop. I have a lot of other seeds to get through on my breeding projects.

I would remove the area in question. I would also get a jeweler's loop so you can identify any other trouble spots before they become full blown cases of mold.
