So back germinating and planting my 3 F1 strains today, had 2 seeds of each fail already I suspect due to mistaken storage in a box in the kitchen. I have 2 Super Lemon Haze and 1 Purple Chemdog that sprouted on the 11th before I had my 4x4 setup, and they are in shock, but two are holding on and surviving.

Some Tobacco seeds failed as well due to me soaking them in water prior to planting them onto the soil surface. I am reusing some soils from last grow and also got a bunch of promix veg for my 7 gallon pots and backup. I have used a tiny Bit of Ferti-Frass (insect castings), Diatomaceous Earth, Liquid seaweed, and a dry microbe mix by Whole Earth which also contains Kelp and Humic acid on the topsoil mostly by slurry spray, but using Bokashi Pro-Grow to wake up the used soil for the seedlings until they are ready for a proper top dressing of the Jobes I use, vs Gaia Greens, I use the Jobe along with Good green earths Bokashi Pro-Grow and now to use their new Pro-Bloom formula to help the Jobes and the seaweed, kelp based things and use of teas in flowering.

The cover crops (Mumms sandwich mix sprouts) came up surprisingly fast, and also germinated some catmint for the cat. Reviving the neglected Aloe Vera that toppled over from neglect and age, which I also use for growing the cannabis, foliars, soil soak, and especially for cloning.

The temps in here are avg 23-26c, with 40-60% RH, and in the tent a steady 25 to 28, and 25 through the night now for the germinating. Keeping the windows open enough to add humidity and fresh air but the AC on low now at 25c+. Very happy with all that. Using 16 on 8 off versus my 12-1 lighting schedule, with 2 Maxisun MF-2000 at 24" from soil, both 30% power measuring 180 ppfd on Photone App using an Andriod, so account for -10% reading deviance. I usually run my seedlings from 100-200, and once they establish or take right off I try 250-350 and go from there and it keeps them short but big and wide.

Currently the 2 Super Lemon Haze seedlings, one is moving along slowly and has started the next shoot of it's first leaves, and the other looks scorched and stunted. The Purple Chemdog seedling in the same 7 gallon with my used soil came up with the hat on her, so I sprayed with aloe and flicked it off easily an hour later, and it's kind of recovered i guess but no sign of the first leaves. Aloe and seaweed spray was used to help them all out, with some DE in there too.

Just a floor oscillating fan in there with only my spare 4" booster doing the exhaust and it's working great for now, until I put in the 6" EC turbo 460 CFM inline fan and charcoal filter, the 2 Passive 6" intake flexducts. I think I will add an active4 or 6" intake fan but I suppose that will eliminate using a second passive duct by raising the pressure in the tent, so if that's the case and I can't use the two passive 6" ducts with the 4" active intake fan effectively, then I will get a really good 6" inline fan for the intake as well. I still have a 3x3 to setup and deciding if the 4" inline EC 250CFM fan is really enough for it's exhaust. But if I use a decent positive intake fan for it this time it might work better, or at least use the two 6" flexduct intakes for the 3x3 as well and maybe it will be fine.

***The last 4 pics are the Tobacco seedlings that sprouted 6-12 hours after being placed on the soil, vs being pre soaked and not germinating. Using a cover like they told me as well until they become less microscopic. I hear these things are one of the few that can compete with the growth of Cannabis.

Wish me luck on the germination of the 3 F1's. Right into the 7 gallon, 4 seeds each this time. Will put them into flower at 4 weeks of growth to sex them quick and then back to reveg ideally, but well see how things go.

Oh and the 3 F1 strains are all from the same male parent of Erbaceous genetically studied but not modified, Ever5st, which is basically a carefully selected Mendo Purp with skunky characteristics.
The three females crossed with it are as follows:
Super Lemon Haze S1 seeds from an OG breeder in BC
Trudeau seeds from a cup winning breeder in Ontario here using this strain to win multiple times.
And Purple Chemdog from a local grower I always associated with.

Wish me luck on the F1 germination this time around.
Thanks for coming by the garden,
Sincerly,

Welcome back to the garden fellas! Quick exclusive update of our grow studies and projects.
5 weeks since germination have been hectic getting everything together.
Excited to have Optimize Organics ship us a bunch of amazing stuff including their soluble Kelp and Humic, Fish Crab and Shrimp, the amazing jam packed fertilizer blends 4-4-4 and a 3-7-4 and even some Orchiata to mix with my cover crops and living mulches. These guys are amazing and ship me from Chilliwack!
Got some Bokashi Gro-Pro in there and some Trichoderma based microbes by TPSnutrients among some other things like Diatomaceous Earth, 12 worms per 7 gallon pot, seen a few recently!
The 4x4 with our F1 strains is doing great and now have 4 plants per pot, plus a few bonus pots for backup in case we have no luck with the females. From front right, counter clockwise pictures are shot. Super Lemon Haze FR. Trudeau RR. Purple Chemdog RL, and Super Lemon Haze FL. Some Aloe Vera for our fertilizer and foliars as well, and those little Alien looking succulents (RR is Mother of a Million Sons) I may use that for help with cover crops...
The 3x3 has a freakishly fast growing Tobacco plant in there that has given our cannabis F1 strains a run for their money! I can't believe the growth. Tobacco is a great pet deterrent and a major pesticide if necessary. It is the Virgina Gold type I believe sourced from some native growers in the province here.
Last but not least if you only got a small air pump, and want to prep your microbes or a compost tea for foliar spray, you can always use a small bottle! Not so good for a soil drench but will work for foliars. Combine with Bokashi after prep as it's not aerated and you will have a powerful synergy of EM, Bacterias, Trichodermas and mycorrhizal mix for vitality, fungal and bacterial protection.
Combine or alternate with a foliar and drench of Humic to Kelp ratio 5:2 to mimic Virgina Techs study creating 50% more root growth and vitality.

Howdy fellas. Quick update on the F1 4x4 grow.
6 weeks or so, now doing water until runoff.
Strong organic pest and disease focus lately with possible signs of powdery mildew originating and persisting on the cloves within the over dense cover crop, which seem to struggle in the density and loss of light from the cannabis canopy. Small white permanent specs and flaky looking beige spots on the Cloves, which started to appear in very small areas on a couple cannabis leaves.
Another Trichoderma based application with castings for spread was done to the soil and as a compost tea foliar with assist from liquid Fish/Crab/Shrimp (nitrogen and wetting agent) Humic/Kelp 5:2 and some honey with a couple hours aeration prior to application.
Ripped out the cover crop now entirely, tied back all the plants for space and spread and gave a strong defoliation.
Also been pushing too much light due to the incorrect values of my older Samsung on Photone light meter App since the recent updates, So upgraded to a Thinkphone which is a sister of the approved Edge series phones Photone tested. Readings are more accurate and I already learned my peak lighting mistakes from the results of the references and am recovering from there. Readings of 300 PPFD were actually of 480-500 PPFD. I still account for the Photone app Andriod 10% typical under reading.
You can see the color difference and bleaching, light stress in the plants that were in the focal hot spots of the light (and where a fan leaf finger succumbed to minor potential dreaded PM suspect spots, while the other shorter and out of the way plants have actually too deep of a high nitrogen green. Also the plant on the front right is of my reused soil while all the others are new Pro-mix veg.
I have considered in the past some of the spots as possible light burn from mist or drops missed after turning the lights back up after a watering or spray.
Also treated some Orchiata with that foliar mix and added it to replace the cover crops.
Complete details of processes and strategies to come in future Journals
Meanwhile big Tobaccy in the other 3x3 tent there is just a monster, eating up the tent and 650 PPFD sometimes before I can get to the light. Just a single Viparspectra P600 in there mind you and just a 4" booster exhaust running all that and the Aloe Veras, Catnip. Basil, Oregano still hanging around as well in the 4x4

Howdy Fellas, stop in for an update. Pace is getting faster.
Keeping the light intensity a bit lower now, things are stable and the plants have mostly recovered from the excess light and PM scare.
Big Tobaccy took over the 3x3 so I setup a refuge spot for them outside the tent for now.

Discovered the first male of the group from the back corner of the tent, of Purple Chemdog. Was hoping for a symbiosis with the Aloe.
Hoping to use all future puppies of my Aloe Vera plants as cover crop companions. Will use dried leaf and stem clippings, with the Nicotine, Basil, Oregano and Catmint mixed in as well as the Orchiata bark. And hopefully some Mother of Millions (center succulent with seeds as flowers) will seed the tent or ill try some manually. They should be robust versatile companions versus the offending cloves.

Oh and check out those 4' steel coated plant stakes I used to brace the walls to prevent imploding when running your exhaust fan. It keeps the wall flat, versus it imploding towards your plant canopy space, and also increasing your ppfd levels after you close the door, creating a higher reading, and possibility of burning your plants due to the convex shape magnifying or what not.
Metal plant stakes are very rigid and good for the job, cheap, and also can use as another top support for hanging extra gear. Wood is expensive and can sag/flex a lot comparably.
