I just purchased a 10pk of 1/2 gram pre rolls. It's indica leaning strains are sensistar x wedding cake. It claims 35.36% THC. So i compared it too the last indoor grow i did and rolled 2 joints of mine, RS11xOkie. First i smoked the pre roll waited 1/2hr walked outside sat for awhile with just a very slight mellow feeling. Then i smoked 1/2 gram joint of my homegrown and just after 3 " inhailed" and hold for 5sec. I put it down and walked outside again. That's when i felt it and sat stared at my garden for over a hr. I did the same thing the next evening with the same effect from the store bought full doobie meh, maybe 2 prerolls would compare to 3-4puffs off my own. I do not believe the 35.36% they claim on the box. It cost $20 for 10 1/2gram prerolls.
I don't know if you listen to the radio. My local rock station plays some syndicated morning show called 'The Bob and Tom Show' A month or so back I listened to a rebroadcast of one of their previous shows. Anyway, there was a segment about the cannabis authorities in Colorado. They gathered a bunch of stuff off the shelves for testing. It turns out they found a lot of edibles contained about half of the amount of THC listed on the package.

I know you're not talking about edibles, but pre-rolls can be just as easily manipulated. I purchased a vape cartridge at my local shop. It said 990mg of total THC. Obviously vaping is different than smoking a blunt, but usually I find vaping to be more like smoking crack than smoking weed. That cartridge (Alaskan Thunder F*ck) tasted decent, but was totally disappointing on the high. My Pineapple OG tasted better, and got me higher. It's purely subjective, but I wonder if NY is inflating the numbers to charge more, but screwing us on content so that we behave ourselves.

Well, week 2 begins with nothing much to report.
Kendra 250819a

She's healthy and happy. The second set of fan leaves have popped. The tent was 70F and 42% humidity. I'm not worrying about humidity levels. Weed grows fine from the equator to the Arctic tundra!

The 🤞good news is:
Kendra 250819b

She has a root into the water already. However, this is what happened with the last seed. In non-triploid plants it usually takes about 10 more days for the roots to make it through the net basket. It's a quick growing root, but only one. The plant I sacrificed on Aug. 9 grew a single root quickly like that, but it was like 40 feet long. The plant couldn't get enough nutrients to grow. Hopefully, next week will have many more tiny roots visible. If not...

Now I'm not trying to beat a dead horse on the subject, but when it comes to whether or not Humboldt expects the Triploid seeds to be problematic, I got my replacement seed pack yesterday.
OG Triploid Replacement Seeds

My three pack of seeds has 4 seeds in it. Which wouldn't raise my eyebrow, except my original 5 pack contained 6 seeds.
1.) The seed I accidentally screwed up when two seeds from different strains failed to germinate.
2.) The seed that never grew a viable fan leaf
3.) The seed that grew (1) 1/32" thick root 40 feet long
4.) The seed that is currently alive and well in the tent.
OG Triploid Original

As you can see, there are still two seeds in the pack. Either I'm super lucky, or Humboldt knows that there is gonna be an increased failure rate.

For the record, the REST of my life suggests it isn't the former! lmao

Sensi for few years been giving me extra in their packs, I also get sensi freebies from attitude if I order sensi, just got eight seeds for the price of five, seven in a five pack and a sticky orange XXL in a one pack as freebies.

Giving them away these days 😜

For sure, I just don't expect a bunch of freebies on seeds that are listed at $28 each! But it is cool, because with having to pay for shipping on the replacement pack, I've got $160 in ten seeds or just $16 each. (*edit: Nope, if all of them from here work, that would be 7 viable seeds for $160. That's $22.88 each) Assuming they all work now of course. Or I've paid $160 bucks for trash, aggravation, and wasted time! lmao

So, Week 3 begins, and again, there is nothing much to report.
The root from last week is probably close to 8" long. It has now been joined by 3-4 friends. They are just making it through the net basket.

I raised the light to 26" in order to get the plant growing a little faster.

Today was a complete water change. With the change, I started to push her a little bit. I jumped her ahead 3 weeks on the nutrient formula that is suggested to use.

Some mildew is visible on the coco surface. The plant is too small for me to spray peroxide and vinegar around, so it is an annoyance that will be around for a week or two.

That's looking starved

That's looking starved
Yeah, it definitely was. The first weeks of seedling, I was super careful about not overloading it. It started out at 1/4 strength nutes, and only maxed out at 1/2 strength. I wanted it hungry when I dumped a ton of nutes on it.

And Week 4 begins. The roots are long and plentiful. Today the tent was 74.8F, and 54% RH. She's 5 3/4" tall. I jumped the plant two more weeks ahead in the nutrient schedule. At this point, I have increased the Phosphorus in order to help her decide to start pushing buds out. Hopefully, if all goes well, by next week's picture, tendrils will start to form.

The mildew on the coco remains, but should be gone by next week.

A quick update:
Kendra 250906

As can be seen, she is beginning to push her little proto-buds in week 2 veg. They are small, so this is a super close-up of a tiny branch. But they can be seen at every internodal space on the plant.

She is 8" tall.
The light sits 27" above her head, and will now remain at that height until she is 22" away, and then that will be the distance until she reaches the ceiling. The tent was 78.1F, and 46% RH. Lights on 20/4 schedule.

Clearly, the plant still looks hungry. This particular leaf/branch combo has only been growing for like 72 or so hours, and it's not QUITE as yellow in reality. The red LEDs, and the reddish-orange clay pebble exacerbate the image. However:
Lotus Nutrients

Here is the Lotus Nutrients feeding formula that I loosely follow in the grow. These amounts are tsp/gal.

"Since this is week 2 veg" by their plan, and I am trying to push the plant, but NOT kill it, I started the week with "week 2 veg" nutes and Cal/Mag for 5 gallons of water, plus "week 2 Bloom" nutes for 3 gallons of water. (The bucket actually holds 3.5 gallons of water with the net basket in place). I wanted to make sure she would tolerate the increased phosphorous and Potassium.

Today, I mixed "week 4 veg" nutes and Cal/Mag for 3 gallons of water with "week 4 Bloom nutes" also for 3 gallons of water. I concentrated it in 1/2 gallon of water, and added it to the bucket. We'll see how she looks come Tuesday.

Experiment over
I woke up this morning needing to change the water in the buckets completely. Here is what I found:
1000010345

What should be noticeable is that there aren't any roots coming down out from that net basket. Wherever could they be?

1000010346

Well, what do you know? It was jettison the escape pods! There are no moving parts in there to justify this. The net basket hasn't been lifted off the bucket since last week's check. And, CLEARLY, that is the old waste water, so I didn't cause this by improperly using the pump during water change.

Fuck it, I've got 160 oz of tincture to drink before Spring arrives. This was gonna be the last plant I grew until after I moved. I guess I'm just gonna start saving on the electric bill early! I'll probably pick this experiment back up in a year or two, (Gonna have to grow RELIABLE seeds when I first get wherever I'm going.)

Triploids are tricky but rewarding, sterile yet often producing bigger, more potent flowers. Your setup sounds solid, and even hitting the consistent 30% THC would be impressive. Fingers crossed that the 4th attempt is the charm and you hit that pound harvest! Looking forward to updates.
I grew it outdoors last year with no problem! In my opinion, it is worth the extra money! It was potent! And flowered a little earlier! Everyone should grow it once outdoors and see what they think!

Hello all!
So, on the subject of triploids. I purchased both the og triploid and the donutz by Humboldt Seed Co. I have not tried the donutz. I live in an Apt. Growing outside isn't an option. I'm pretty sure it wasn't labeled that way when I bought the seeds but whatever. I have tried to germinate 2 of the og. One didn't pop and the other came out looking mutated so I pulled it. With that said, I do grow a lot of HSC strains and have had great luck with them. Their genetics are solid. I just harvested a Moonfog and a Guzzlerz. Pretty sure both are over 30%. It can get ya too high to play video games kinda high. No luck with the triploids though.
There is another company doing triploids(more than one actually). The name of the company is Grow the Revolution out of Oregon. They have 4 THC triploids and a few CBD varieties. I just harvested a Bermuda Triangle with those HSC plants and it is IMO stronger than those two. That is saying something. I'm crosseyed right now. Currently I have a Private Party triploid by GTR in the dirt. As an experiment, my 1st time doing this, I put her(and a few others) on 12/12 from seed. She sprouted Sept 3. Oct 9 she showed pistils. She is ridiculously sticky. I'm not sure how big she'll get. She's tiny now. The Bermuda Triangle triploid I grew by them was over 6'. So I'm putting up some photos. Obviously the big un's the Bermuda Triangle I just harvested and the short, stupid sticky plant is the Private Party going currently. She sprouted 48 days ago.
