Hey everyone!

Starting a new grow diary for the new closet setup I have planned. Hopefully this becomes my final and permanent setup. Still waiting on my current grow to finish. I hope to have them all harvested before November.

Setup:
5'x5'x8' Closet
5x 11-gallon Mobile RDWC 2-Bucket Systems
3x 135W Full Spectrum LED lights
2x 120W Full Spectrum LED lights
950gph Air Pump
Govee Sensors
2x Oscillating Fans

Mobile RDWC:
2x 7-gallon Buckets
6" Net Pot Lid
210gph water pump
2x Air Stones
On Wheels (coming soon)
DIY Trellis Net (coming soon)

I will have more images after the current harvest. I will do before and after picture of the closet as well as a full assembly guide for the DIY mobile RDWC units I will be using.

I plan to start out by germinating 5x Blackberry Kush Regular seeds from Eighth Brother. I will grow them under a 6/2 light schedule for 4 weeks them switch to 11/13 until sexed. Remove all except 2 females, maybe keep 1 male for pollen, moved to a tent of course. I'm banking on 2 of the 5 being female. Odds should be in my favor.

I will have started to germinate more seeds before flipping the regs to 11/13. I will then run these 12/12 (or maybe 11/13) from seed. I will choose seeds known for shorter flowering periods so that they will hopefully end around the same time as the regs started before them.

These are the seeds I have to work with. I am already growing a Tutankhamon (AK-47), so I will probably not grow that one this round. All of these seeds are a decade old so I will be germinating at least 2 of each of the 3 strains I choose.

Now to wait until my current grow finishes before I can start work on the closet. See you all in a month!

Over the next week or so I will be putting together the remaining 4 RDWC units. I will document each step in case anyone wants to build something similar. I mentioned in my other grow diary that there was a small leak in the first one assembled. Turns out I didn't use enough plumber's tape. I will be going extra heavy with the plumber's tape from now on. All threads will get a ton. I bought plenty of plumber's tape, so might as well use it. Better safe than sorry.

Made a table of flowering times to figure out which 3 strains I will grow alongside the Blackberry Kush. The columns numbered 7 through 12 are the number of weeks the plant flowered in someone's grow diary. These numbers are more realistic values than the estimated weeks provided by the seed bank.

Super Critical Bud CBD by Garden of Green

New lights showed up. Was $70 for both so I couldn't pass it up.

Marking all buckets to drill holes. These 2 holes are on every bucket.

Tools and parts

Find the center using the marks on the bucket.

Line up marks to keep measuring tape straight.

1-1/8" for the center of the 1" hole. I wrongly marked 1-1/4" at first.

I just eyeballed this mark for the 5/8" hole for the 1/2" water hose.

Used a 3/16" bit for the starter holes. Makes it much easier for the larger bits.

1" hole saw for the bottom hole.

Clean it up with a 1" bit and razor blade. Could also use sandpaper.

5/8" bit for the upper hole. This one doesn't really need cleanup afterwards since it does not need to be waterproofed.

Every bucket will get these 2 holes. Two buckets are connected together at these points.

Ye do a quick tap with high gran sandpaper if its pretty sharp. Better safe than sorry :p

Found some sand paper and sanded the edges of the bottom hole. I also had to make it a tiny bit bigger using the 1" bit.

Bulkhead and sandpaper.

Put the plumber's tape on extra heavy.

Put the bulkhead in the bucket. Even added some more plumber's tape afterwards.

Tightened the bulkhead nut until the rubber washers started to bulge out a bit. Too tight and the rubber washers become useless.

Added the male half of the union fitting. Only hand tightened so far. Need to find my other adjustable wrenches. This damn pipe wrench is too big, but is still needed to connect each half of the union fitting later.

Edit: On my first test build, it leaked from the male side of the union fitting. It leaked out from the threads, so obviously it just needed a ton more plumber's tape which I made sure it had from the start this time.

Adding the water level tubing.

Using the 3/4" hole saw made a hole with center 1" above bottom of bucket on opposite side of the bulkhead with male union fitting.

The elbow bulkheads I have needed to be swivel for my previous build. Non swivel ones will be easier to install. I had to rig these with rubber grommets cut in half so the 1/2" tubing fits tight.

Insert the elbow bulkheads into the hole with rubber washers and tighten.

In order to use tubing I already had, I went from 1/2" tubing to this clear tubing (not sure exact size). I then zip tied it to the bucket by drilling a small hole as seen above.

I put the water level tube on the bucket with the male fitting since that will be my reservoir while the female fitting gets the female plant.

I read that flow direction from female to male can handle the most pressure so I went with that. Just coincidence the female fitting gets the plant.

Air hose hole is added to the female bucket with 3/16" bit. At the same spot as the water hose, but on the opposite side. You can put this anywhere as long as it is above max water level.

2 air stones, some tubing, and some fittings.

Just soaked some clay pebbles in hot water to remove most of the debris. Going to let it dry, sort into 3 sizes, and rebag the different sizes. When setting up the next grow I will soak and rinse again only what I need.

Sorted the pebbles through a screen (or cookie cooling rack

) to separate out the larger ones. Will also sort the small ones using the net pot and throw away anything that falls through.

My closet is finally empty so the tear down has begun.

That is enough for today. I need to flip the door before I do any more. I will do that tomorrow, as well as tarp the floor and mylar the walls/door.
