When to harvest my plant

I never recommend flushing.

Let the trichomes be your guide for when to harvest. It would be best if you can provide pictures of the trichomes on the buds (not the leaves). That requires magnification.
I have a jewellers magnifying thing il see if I can put it to the camera on my phone

That's all I use. I had a $30 microscope from Amazon that worked well till it died. I didn't get another. The jeweler's loupe is enough for my purposes.

You ca buy on aliexpress one of those 2$ magnifiers that clip on your phone.then use phone zoom for extra 10x works amazing
I've seen them and considered getting one. I just don't need one. I can't think of any reason I'd need to capture images. It certainly would be helpful for folks asking questions about when to harvest, though.

Nobody said you have to take the shot.
Normal lupe does 60x and you can see 20tricomes then you do the phone zoom and its 3 in whole image.allsoo i gead a headache if i look in that tiny glass screen is huge

True. This is, however, a thread in which people have been asking for pictures.

TBH, I rely on the loupe very little. I usually only use it to confirm what my eyes tell me.

We cant recommend much until we see the pictures really. If we dont see if the lower buds are more mature then the new growth we cant tell you to harvest or wait.

If your weed is growing new pistils at week 8 it means its recieving too much light most likely, that new growth will not mature at the same time that the old growth. Can se wee a picture? You might have to harvest sooner than you think, or not, we need a picture.
Pics are available now

They look very nice! I dont think its foxtailing at all it just needs 1 week more or 2 for the buds with more white pistils. The ones that have curled orange pistils only are ready for harvest and hopefully are from separate plants. Even if its the same strain many times they dont mature at the same time, I have 6 dosidos planted right now and 2 of them are almost finished, 1 is super behind and the other 3 are going at the same time.

But again, like people said the proof is in the trichomes. Some strains are ready when there's more orange pistils some strains might be ready when they still have a fair ammount of white pistils, the only way to know 100% is trichomes, the rest is just a guideline or a sign on when to start checking them or an aproximation in case you cant check trichomes, better to be off by a bit than by a lot.

Thanks for all your help I have taken a few close ups with my camera of the trichomes

I see a fair ammount of amber on the leaves, which doesnt really count as much because they always mature faster. The buds have a few here and there and it seems it has very little clear ones but me personally I need more magnification to tell for sure, maybe someone else that is in the thread can guide you better. Usually the rule of thumb is:
10% amber = maybe some are still clear but it gives the most head high
20% amber = balanced effect, some reach peak THC at this point but the 20% amber contains CBN which is what THCa degrades into and its similar to CBD.
30%+ = danger territory for some strains because they start losing taste, others dont, very couch locky due to all the CBN.
I try not to bother much about the trichomes on the leaves and focus on the calyxes and very small leaves that Im probably gonna smoke.

Really good looking plants you grew. It's getting harder for me to see amber for some reason with older eyes. The buds not your leaf trichs look milky to me. And because i let mine go 1-2wks past the flowering days mine seem to always push out some new white hairs. Mine look pretty haggard leaf wise at harvest i push them to use up all the moisture in there pots and don't feed anymore nutes the last 10days just plain water.

I've got a jewellers magnifying thing it works but its quite small and getting my eye on it and being able to focus it is quite a skill lol and my hands ain't that steady anymore so iv just ordered one you can use with your phone that you clip on your camera should be here in a few days so il be able to get a clearer picture of the progress. I want to go for the balanced effect that most growers go for. I read for the balanced im looking for mostly cloudy trichomes with some amber so im going to hold off for a week. both strains im growing have an 8 to 10 week flowering time iv only just reached week 8 today so il keep feeding and il just keep an eye on them every day. whats confusing for me is the pistols as Some of the buds on both plants have more orange than white and look more ready than others. I really do appreciate all your help

I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I've never been convinced that a few days one way or the other would make a big difference. Thinking back to my first few harvests, I recall being clueless and stressed, but the weed was good no matter how much I screwed it up. Your buds look great.

You're doing great so far, a week or so more would not hurt. Cheers🍻

Hi tganks for your comment its nice to know they look good and im going the right direction. To be honest iv not had much stress thankfully the only problem iv faced is with RH but I got that under control now I think.
