It looks as though the buds in magnification have fully developed seeds! This could also be why your plant is dying off quickly......mother nature may have taken over and wants your plant to drop seeds!!!

Wont be needing to spend money on seeds for a while!!! Maybe trade with some folks on the Farm!! I would suggest harvesting, trimming away most leaf, hang to dry......then pick out all your seeds, save the flower for smoking!!
Not a big deal, the weed will still be awesome 👊🏼💚

Thank you for the advice! I really appreciate it. I’ve always been scared of overwatering, and to be completely honest, I rarely watered to runoff this time because of the issues I experienced on my last grow.


What’s your final take on this? Should I chop her now, or is it no longer safe to smoke and better to discard? That would be a real bummer, especially since this has happened on my only two grows this past year. It’s honestly really disheartening, as everything seems to go almost perfectly until close to harvest

I noticed that as well. I know there were no light leaks, so I assumed it might just be genetics, but I’m not entirely sure. I’ve been smoking for the past 20 years, but this is only my second attempt at growing LOL

Thank you, this really made my night. For a moment, I thought I’d have to throw away the entire grow like I did last time because of bud rot. I’ll chop first thing tomorrow morning

If the sugars arent headed the same direction let it go, keep your harvest date. Some genetics will do that to their fans when they're wrapping up, with the buds still very viable for another week or two if you ever want to do a late run. You need the cannabinoids to mature, and sometimes a plant will look ugly AF while you're waiting for it. So long as the buds aren't turning necrotic or rotting, it's generating its potency load and continuing to finish. At this stage the fan leaves have become an obsolete part of the plant. You saw it coming with the senescence.

Good question. I really can't say without physically examining the flowers. But I can say go through it and discard any with rot and mold.

You can't over water coco but under watering will cause the coco and in turn the plant to dry out. This is the main drawback of growing in coco, 3+ fertigations a day and all that waste water. If you're not retired and have to leave the house for 8-10 hours a day a timer with a container of water and a pump works well but you still need to deal with the waste water, the plants can not sit in the waste water.

But once that is worked out you can grow way faster in coco and flip plants at 5-6 weeks of age and get a nice harvest.

I switched to coco 6 years ago and I'll never go back to soil. I don't want any more trees and will start flipping young plants every month as soon as I finish my flowering greenhouse, a 7.5' wide by 18' long greenhouse. And I bet I'll need to start building another early next year.

Coco gives one an easy hydro grow method without all the DWC paraphernalia and restrictions. In my mind there's no better way to grow. I even use coco to grow almost all vegetables these days😉

Unfortunately, it looks like the sugar leaves are turning yellow as well, along with the actual buds on the top colas. I’m worried this could spread if that’s even possible, so I’m leaning toward chopping. The trichomes are still mostly clear rather than cloudy, although I did notice a bit of amber on a few colas. At this point, rather than risking losing the entire grow, I think I’m going to harvest and see what I can salvage

Dude, 16C is definitely too cold for the late bloom cycle, that’s stressing them out for sure. The red/purple colors look cool but it’s probably cold causing a phosphorus issue, and the dry crunchy leaves look like they’re dying back. idk if it's too late for the old ones, but crank that temp up to 22C minimum and make sure your pH in coco is locked to 5.8. I lost a grow to rot too, it sucks, so def keep that humidity below 50%

I harvested and did a 7-day hang dry until the stems almost snapped/cracked.


When I started trimming in preparation for curing, I noticed that almost all of the sugar leaves were white on the underside, and now I’m worried it might be powdery mildew 😔


I didn’t see any white spots or signs of PM before harvest, so I’m guessing it may have developed during the drying process if that is possible? I tried to stick as closely as possible to the 60/60 drying rule, but I did let the humidity drop to around 50–60% because I was terrified of bud rot after losing my last grow.


Now I’m confused and not sure what to do… again, lol.


So once again, the big question is: do I trash it again, or would it be safe to smoke?

Man so sorry.
I do not grow in coco but I have studied it through grow diaries. Here are some points from reading well over 500 journals and such.
You can not over water coco. You can over nute it but not water.
Single day fertigations are more prone to problems that move quickly as you are giving the plant the whole days nutrition in one go. Spacing out fertigations helps identify coco problems sooner than single fert.
40-50 % is not in the danger zone for rot or pm. However some growers seem to miss the light time transition when the lights go out peaking the humidity. It happens in every tent especially if you are dropping the standard 10 degree from day to night. Most growers who are aware of this script a boost on the duct fan to turn over the air in the tent removing the humidity bump.
And as has been said 16 degree for daytime temp is too low in actually any part of the grow. For all intents the plant stalls and does not transfer nutes and water through the plant.
If the white powder does not shake off or rub off it's not mildew. If you take a small leaf and put it in 3% h202 trics will stay and mold/mildew will not it will float off the leaf or bud.
A very stressed plant will throw every trick it has to flower and reproduce. One of those is icing up for protection.

Your first couple of pictures of the sugar leaves ....... Are exactly just that.....loaded up with trichomes (sugar) on the underside of the leaves!!! 👍🏼

That looks like trichomes. If it's white and silky looking, it's mites or insect cocooning. If it's white andbpowdery or fuzzy, mold. If it's white and speckly, that's how I would describe trichomes.
