Hey guys so I have been trying to fine tune a way to keep a perpetual autoflower grow going in a 4x4 with one 400w light. Right now I have one in mid flower, one in very early veg and 3 that just sprouted. The sprouts are under humidity domes and in a corner receiving about 210ppfd. The early veg is in a 5 gal receiving about 350 and my flowering girl is taller and more elevated to receive around 700. All are in coco. I’m just wondering if there are any tips out there for what I’m doing. As far as happy mediums for spectrum, humidity, and temps. Right now I’m able to keep it about 47-57rh and day and night swings from 65 to 78f. My spectrum is set for flowering. Thanks in advance!!

Welcome 😁 we love pictures 🖼️. Please tell us how big your pots are for the flowering plants? I've done this type of growing with autos in my old 4x4 which I no longer have. I ran 3gal fabric and 2gal plastic for final pots .

First 3 an at 30 days started 3 more and just ran them every 30days Now here's my key point, each 3 strains were the same strains. Sure you'll get variences but it will work out.

Plan to keep going in all 5 gal but am curious of the 3 gal as I’ve heard mixed reviews. Btw how are you getting that color to come out so quickly? That’s Mexican rush auto in flower and some of the others have purple in their genes too. How can I really get them to turn? 65 is as low as I can get my night temps and I have some winter frost by new millennium for the last week or so which is supposed to induce senescence. Beautiful plants too!

I've used 3gal or 2gal but never larger for autos. Strains are primarily indica leaning. I run my light 18on 6off throughout the grow, cooler temps seemed to bring out that color. You could easily do 9 plants in your tent in 3gal pots. I'm more into photoperiod honestly and only use a 3x3x6 tent .

Sounds like a good plan! I don't grow autos very often. I have grown mixed-age plants in the same small tent, though. For the youngest, I made a platform to hold a diffuser over the plant to reduce the amount of light it was getting. I used white paper for the diffuser. It seemed to work well.

To truly dial in a perpetual grow, you might eventually want to move to photoperiod plants. Much more control, both in terms of when they flower and what genetics are in them.

I’ve done photos before but I can’t have a photo in veg while another is in flower in the same tent. That’s my whole goal with this 4x4. I understand a photoperiod perpetual grow and I would need at least two tents to do it that way. I’m working on breeding in my other tent but this 4x4 I want to just generate bud.

Moving and adjusting hight while chasing a " virtual level canopy " is what we do. Mapping out your light high and low spots help.
I have had plants in mid flower and just into veg at higher than recommended vpd ( lower humidity) and it worked fine. def follow the rules for environment for the flowering plants and do not try to compromise the lower humidity. That way brings trouble.
Just say no to PM

Exactly! Thank you! I had bud rot a few runs ago and ruined an entire harvest so I’ve been putting the younger plants through a higher vpd out of straight fear lol it’s good to hear that they’ll take it!

I have both the Vivosun for lights and duct fans and the ACI for the environmental controls like the cloud and thermo forge boxes.
The Vivosun products for environment have too large a tolerance for my druthers. And we're more expensive.

That’s sweet the thermo forge seems awesome

9 degrees. That's all you get.
With just the thermoforge I can raise the tent 9 degrees over outside the tent temp.
The lights raise it that much but in seedling and veg I need heat support in the basement

Gotcha what’s the one where it dehumidifies heats and cools? I think it’s like 5/600 bucks but I’d have to get an aci setup to work with it.

That thing takes 20 minutes to change what you want it to do. It does not do both with a switch.
Although a simple HVAC 4 inch manifold would sort that under engineered pos out.

If I had the energy I would start up a company solely to make cannabis grow environmental controls work like they should.
Water level sensors on humidifiers.
Exit temp sensors on thermo boxes.
A small led light that comes on when you lift the lid to add water.
Recovery of condensate back into the humidifier.
Dwc buckets with auto pH adjustment using 12 oz cartridges.
Save the house blow up and plug in water retention system for RDWC.

And the biggest one.
Screw your switches and power settings on lights.
Show me the watts.

Even some of the best environmental controls out there under utilize redundancy in sensors. When an entire system can brick a grow If one hygrometer input trends out of specs I will either back up the system myself or not bother with the purchase.

How many plants are you running in the 3x3?
