I made 10 pork shoulders for my son's Eagle Scout Awards Banquet.
Some guy dug the money muscle out of a shoulder and topped it with a 4x4 piece of bark and almost got his ass kicked by 2 guys in line.

Its just me and the wife....I will smoke a butt....it last me 3 months....a briskett...6 months.. ..back when I had my kids at home....they my last 3 meals. I love make street tacos out of both....corn tortillas, red onions, cilantro and some salsa verde....simple but so good.
That's it.....dinner are street tacos....gotta go dig out the smoked briskett 😁😁

You reminded me of a close call I had back in 1981 in Escondido, California. I was 15 at the time and a latchkey teen with very little supervision and had set up a grow in my closet, had it lined with foil and everything (didn't know about mylar in 1981). It would never have worked out with the piece of shit fluorescent light I was trying to use, but I didn't know that at the time.

I grew a couple plants to about 2 feet tall, they were looking really nice. I happened to mention it to the guy I was getting my weed from who lived in one of the units downstairs and he offered to buy them from me, so I sold them.

The very next day I got a visit from the police pounding on the door waking me up. They claimed there was a report of a shotgun being fired inside the residence and wanted to come in and make sure everybody was safe. I was home alone, still half asleep, just a teen still rubbing my eyes, Scared at their presence, so I said there's nobody but me here you can look around. And immediately after saying it, I thought "Oh fuck... the plants!!!" Oh the cops looked around and even checked closets and left and the whole time I was thinking please don't let a leaf be on the floor.

So a couple things from the experience. First, that was my very first grow, didn't take them to the finish, almost got arrested because it's obvious a friend ratted me out. I found out years later when they finally nabbed my brother that the "report of a shotgun" was a sneaky tactic the police were using to gain legal access without a warrant. Here's the thing, I started later seeing stories in the news about arrests made of some thing or another following a report of a shotgun. It became a dog whistle term, law enforcement was using it to signal exactly what they were doing when they did it by specifically identifying the weapon as a shotgun. Maybe I'm just a paranoid old stoner, but that's what I believe.

And you talk about dumb luck, I had just gotten rid of the plants.
