Trying something a little different by starting them in coco coins as will be autopots again (in coco/perlite) but had been starting previous ones in starter soil. Anyway, means feeding immediately when first proper leaves appear and hopefully less transplant shock.

Meant to say I will also be tapping you all up for advice regards the photos as I make a right pigs ear of it all...hopefully not...lol!

I am also still seriously considering that second tent. Did some measuring pre-holidays and I think it's a goer. Need to work out exactly what I need equipment wise now though as been new additions here and there so have plenty I can use in new tent bar a few pieces.

Looking great into the new year! Glad to see your going hoot for a bit.

Also second tent super good idea. Opens all new options for you, more than 1 part of the cycle going at a time. How much space you have to work with?

Tent wise? I can go for a 3x3 next to my 5x5 just about with space for all the leads and what not so I think that'll work. I had a 3x3 originally when I first started. Means I can have a veg and flower tent like you mention or even a photos and autos tent. I'd love to try some breeding with photos as well so many options ahead. Think it'll be great fun though plugging it all in might not...lol!

And good news, the four new ladies have all popped this morning.

Now to not kill them with a very, very weak nutes solution once they have got their cotyledons out before getting them in to their final home asap really.

Gonna go with 1ml Canna A & B, 2ml Rhizotonic and 0.5ml Cali-magic per litre (this is 50% of normal feeding schedule for Canna Coco) whilst in propagator and slowly ramp up from there.

For breeding you are going to want a skinny tall situation. Like 2x2x3. Just cause you really only want the 2 plants you are breeding exposed to each other.

Or try to max space and get the largest tent that fits. Look into a multi chamber tent. Something like that. It may give you more options for clones and storage space.
I’ve seen them with 3x4 open with a 1x4 side area type deal.

Aaah, interesting. That makes sense. I shall do some more teseraach as not in a huge rush. Thanks. 🙂

There was roots piling out of the coco coins so had to be transplanted asap, I would normally wait a little longer for more leaves.

Nearly made a complete f@ck up when I mixed up the weak nutes for the coco. Had a, is that right, moment just before adding and EC was 1.6, eek! Glad I caught that or could have been the shortest grow ever...lol! Anyway, all good now, EC of 0.8, pH 6.0. Weak mix of Cali-magic, Canna A & B and Canna Rhizotonic.

I have got one qu for the crowd, I've always run my lights during the night and off during day (18/6) for autos (to keep heat and cheaper power but imagine that is somewhat negligible) but am I over worrying for photos as read dire warnings if they have any light on them in their dark time once you go to 12/12 (in flower obviously) then that will ruin them (herms etc). Is that absolutely the case or does it vary by strain and what not? Just if I run like the autos then during the day with lights off there will be a little light coming in at the bottom of the tent through the raised flaps I have which allow air in/out.

So instead of usual autos schedule of 18/6 - off at 11am, on at 5pm. I now have 18/6, off at 11pm, on at 5am. Suppose this doesn't really come in to effect until I hit flower but I am definitely intrigued.

So far what I’ve experienced with light leaks is it can vary on the stability of the strain you have. First gen vs something thats been back bred and stabilized over a couple years seems to make a difference in how hard they “fling their flung” hahaha! With as much light my last run flowered under i cant believe the whole lot didn’t throw nanners! And it was bright in there! Had i got the light leaks taken care of sooner after flip id had no problems (other than the mites)🤣

walking in your room during dark and having the phone on to take a pic or look something up or even just using the screen for a light so you dont trip over a plant hasnt seem to mess them up at all. but that constant light on even at low power can muck stuff up.

Yeh, tallies with what I've read. No pointing in tempting fate is there so think I'll probably leave as is then for the grow as there will definitely be some low light during the day if that was their dark period.

This is legit, dude! 🤩

Ha, thank you! I do love the setup I have to say. I've got a cpl of new gadgets on the way as well. The dehumidifier finally arrived last week which I pre-ordered middle of last year so that will make a huge difference towards the end of my grows. And also have the T8 Terraform coming (pre-order) which means I can remove my T7 (a/c) and T3 heater (as T8 now does both) so free up space and power.

Here's another totally random qu, to help a friend in TX. Can anyone suggest good strains to grow in their crazy heat? I'm all ears. Maybe I should put another thread up with it but thought I'd drop it in here first.

Not offhand. But some research might get us there. Maybe landrace hybrid from Africa or Jamaica.

In plant news, ladiers entered veg officially today, bang on 2 weeks from sprouting. So few tweaks to temp/humdity and on we go. I'll post some pics later on but looking ok so far and just doing their root thing.
