I recently purchased an Ecru IF-02 2in1 Decarb and Infuser to try and start making my own edibles. I figured I'd start with something easy and tried brownies. I've tried to make brownies on 3 separate occasions and have yet to get anything close to the buzz I should. I'm using a shake (pre-grounded flower) of 25.64% High Resin THC-A. I use about 7-8g to make a 1/2 cup of butter. I tried the 2in1 on 230 degrees for 30 minutes for decarb and 175 for 2 hours for infusion. Weak. Then I tried 240 for 40 minutes/175 for 2hours and 45 minutes. Not as weak, but still trash. Last batch was 250 for 35 minutes/175 for 2 hours and 45 minutes. Better. I feel like I'm halfway there. Am I not using enough flower? Is the shake too fine to decarb properly? Are my temps not right for the machine? After all three decarbs, the flower was still pretty green looking, but did have that roasted smell with the dry and brittle feel to it. So that seemed good, except I have never seen the dull green or the honey brown color I keep reading about lol. I have no idea what's wrong and I don't want to keep blowing thru flower trying to figure it out.

I use a toaster oven at 250F for 30 minutes to decarb and 3 hrs in a crock pot on high (about 200F) to infuse into oil. I use 1 gram flower per 1 ounce of oil, usually coconut oil or butter, placed in a glass jar with a lose fitting lid and into a water bath in the slow cooker with lid.

Most of my flower runs around 20% THCA with one tested at 30% but all make excellent oil which i use to make 00 caps, gummies and of course brownies and cookies.

When I got started every study I read claimed decarbing occurred best at 250F for 30 minutes and I have to agree and have tested various temperatures/times.

Sounds like you're getting close to dialing it in😉

I do not have this machine. I decarb in oven.
I personally like my decarbed weed a nice brown color. The temps seem fine but I would decarb and infuse a bit longer. Maybe an extra 20 mins for decarb. An extra hr or 2 for infusing.

I would double check the temp with a thermometer if possible. Just to make sure the machine is correct.
(I use this type)

I use a similar machine. Its called 'Onorok' and came with a recipe book, gloves, trays cubes etc. First couple attempts were weak at best.
Last batch was super easy. This machine has 1hr Oil setting, 2hr Butter setting, 4hr Tincture setting and 8hrs.
I set it to 4hrs and 190° added roughly 500ml of coconut oil loosely broken up bud (8g's)
Turned out great. Perfect strength for a few older friends. Arthritis and Cancer.....both people love it!!
Strain it and squeeze it through 2 of these 5gal paint strainers. Its nice in the fridge because it firms up again. 👍🏼

I own a magical butter machine
Have not used it in years
These multi functional units are hit and miss

Some issues
Material may not be decarbed correctly
There may not be enough cannabinoids in your infused oil
There is always a chance you do not possess enough of the enzymes in your liver to process the cannabinoid

May want to calibrate your oven to make sure it is accurate and try an oven decarb
Then finish the infusion in your unit, no decarb setting

Another issue was the potency
If your unit has a 2 cup minimum then you need a bit of flower/concentrate to infuse it for recipes
If each brownie only has 2mg it may not work for a lot of people

Most issues are related to improper decarb or not enough milligrams

Newer more efficient units are on the market

I'm sure it's the strength of my edibles. I have had edibles from others in the past. A small corner from my friend's brownie will have me in happy highness for hours. That's the gold standard that I'm shooting for. I also have work friends as guinea pigs who are letting me know the potency.
I will try a different decarb with a free more milligrams to see if that helps. Unfortunately, because of where I live, I can't have any smell which is why I bought a decarb machine and can't decarb in the oven.

I use my toaster oven outside on the patio as my wife doesn't like the smell in the house😉 I also grow a Cherry Wine hemp and extract the CBD which takes a 90 minute decarb.

I does not happen too often but watch the internal temps of the brownies while baking
THC evaporates at 314f (157c)
Most brownie mixes reach A little over 250f (121c) internally during the bake but ovens can be wildly inaccurate

How many milligrams did you infuse into how much oil?

Top and middle are infused oil
Bottom is infused simple syrup

I have gone to using my oils and syrup like a condiment
Add to ketchup, mayo, jams and gravy to dose foods
More control on dosage size
Things like an uneven infused pan of brownies
Not much effect on one end and over the top effects at the other end

I'm using 7-8 grams of flower and infusing it with one stick (1/2 cup) of butter with one box of brownie mix to make brownies in an 8x8 inch pan and then I cut it into a 1x2x2 inch pieces for a serving size.

how does it work what can you calibrate how far how long?

i do 97C (206f) for 2h decarb just the herb then 3h herb in butter. worked really good
It's really basic. You press decarb and put in your time and temp. 10 seconds later, it starts and beeps when it's done. Then you press infuse, add your melted butter, oil or whatever, set the time and temp, then wait 10 secs...
The main purpose for a machine it seems is to cut out the smell and your need to check it and mix it. The machine temp is supposed to be much more accurate than ovens, plus it has a timer that shuts off the heat automatically and it continually moves or shakes the cannabis so you don't need to yourself.

That's a near perfect infusion amount
At least a 1000mg probably closer to 2000mg or more
100+mg a serving
Out of my league, I'm 25mg-50mg and that gets me trippy

So your infusion amount is fine
No questions about the flower being used
Next would be a need to check the decarb
This may be hard if you cannot use your oven
They make silicon boxes that come with the magical butter machine
Cuts down on the smell

Several years ago there were some threads dealing with the sensors in the various units being faulty for a number of reasons
Most of the problems were with the multi functional units

Thank you. If the amount of flower is good, then your comment and some others are pushing me to think that the machine temps might be incorrect. Okay, I'll try decarb in the oven with a thermometer next and use just use the machine for infusion...see how that works.
Now I'm wishing there was a way to check the temp of the machine will it's running. Unfortunately, the reason why there's no smell is because it's completely sealed during operation.

Just a pass along
The Ardent FX does let some odor escape
As the decarb occurs it appears that the moisture evaporates and creates a little pressure which pops the lid toward the end of the cycle
Not sure if your unit may do something similar
Remember to simmer some cinnamon and nutmeg to cover any smells
