Freshly trimmed leaves work too. When my rh drops in the jars or Grove bags, I take a very small piece of a flower tortilla and put it inside. Rh comes up in no time.

Have been curious about the earth boxes for a while now. Very cool setup you have going on!I chopped down the Astrofog Sunday evening. Day 86 I believe. Saw a few amber so I went ahead and cut. Right now I have her in a tiny tent drying. I have a fan blowing against the tent and a humidifier.
Her temp is around 66° f with 60% rh. I cant get the temp any lower but 66 should be fine.
FSxSC I want to say has 2 more weeks. Could be more. She was about 2 weeks behind. Trichs are starting to get cloudy and her fade has started.
I'm kind of bummed. I have some leftover from the past year in Grove Bags to cure. And they were working great. But within the past few months when winter came it's like 35% rh in my house.
Since I last checked the humidity in the bags dropped to 50% rh. It's pretty dry now. Should still be good. From now on I'm gonna put them in the bags to cure and then put them in jars.
From my experience no matter what you do it will cause water to leak and if you try the instructions it backs up in the tube and shuts the unit off. When using them with no hose I end up with water on the flooring. If you put it in some kind of saucer the water builds up and fries the electronics. If you aren’t draining it often. The way I was able to resolve this was placing it on top of a pot of soil. The soil absorbed it and wasn’t soaked. The unit did die short of the two year warranty and aci replaced it. Not sure what happened it wasn’t wet just stopped powering on.Not much of an update really. So I was using my ACI humidifier in the drying tent. I decided to put it outside the tent and used the hose for the first time. Word to the wise, make sure the hose is positioned in a good spot.
Went to check on her one morning and there was water all over. Apparently it can drip from the hose. I thought ok, no problem. I raised the hose. When I checked on it the next morning, the RH was 30%. The plant dry as hell.
Apparently the hose needs to be positioned a certain way or It won't blow anything. I'm hoping It'll be fine. I cut off a bud and smoked some of it. The rest I tested in a jar and it's around 59%. I said fuck the hose and put it inside the tent.
It's only been a week but I think I'm gonna trim her up. The humidifier is working now so it's getting some moisture back in it, I'm just not sure if it will stay that way in the jar.
From what I sampled it's not too bad. Doesn't smell like hay at all.

Oh yeah. I've heard something about putting fruit peels in to raise RH and I totally forgot about thatWhen my rh drops in the jars or Grove bags, I take a very small piece of a flower tortilla and put it inside. Rh comes up in no time.
The earthboxes do pretty well. Starting out its a little hard figuring out how much to water but once you start to fill the reservoir and it drinks from the bottom growth explodes.Have been curious about the earth boxes for a while now. Very cool setup you have going on!![]()
Yes. Tobacco tea is a good natural insecticide. You get it friend
I’ve heard planting some tobacco plants around also helps deter off a lot of pests. I use tobacco in my little diy pest spray with garlic and a dash of of vinegar! Works great at the sign of any trouble!!
