I’m late to starting this grow diary, but I’m currently on day 32 of total growth, and on day 2 of flower using the SCROG technique. I’m running these plants in a 3x3 tent indoors with a 300 watt Spider Farmer light g3000 model. I’m watering a half gallon of water every 3 days with the Athena Blended Line for my nutrients. I’m using an amendment soil consisting of Fox Farm Coco Loco and Ocean Forrest soil. I pH at 6.5 and my ppm is closer to 900 ppm every time that I feed nutrients. This is year 2 of growing cannabis, and only the second time I’ve ever ran photoperiodic plants. I welcome any and all criticism good or bad to ensure I become the best grower possible. I will update my progress periodically. Happy growing everyone!! 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚

I too use foxfarm soil...happy frog and ocean forest 50/50. Feels, smells, looks like good stuff. So far my girls like it. I was using foxfarm nutes too,but switched for this grow to green leaf nutes, foxfarm castings, advanced nutrients bid bud, and bud candy. So far I think they're doing the job. Good luck growing! Looks good!😁

This is the first time I’ve ever tried blending the two mediums together and seeing what it would do. So far I’m very happy with the results. I need to get the Fox Farm worm castings. I keep reading good things about using worm castings and I’m curious to try it. Do you like the Advanced Nutrients line? I’ve only tried the 3 part series they have and it was two years old and super weak. That’s why I bought the Athena Blended Line and I’m blown away at how good this stuff is. Keep up the great work!! Thanks for your feedback also!!

Following.. Nice combo, can't wait to see these flower out! Not sure you need the EWC if your bottle feeding. Just stick to the Athena program.

Thanks for the feedback! I’m super excited using this scrog technique for the first time. I took this before and after picture tonight before tucking and after. The stretch is in full swing and I’m only on the third day of flowering. I’m surprised that they are taking the nutrients at 1000 ppm so well this early on! Would you suggest buying Autopots? I’m dying to give them a go, but all of this stuff gets expensive lol.

I'd wait. See how this produces for ya, then compare the costs to maybe producing a little more than u did.

It's looking damn good now.👍

They can get to three times the size after the flip, your tent is gonna be corner to corner. Lot of growers here add a 2nd or even a 3rd layer of scrog to manage the stretch period. That's not me though, not yet anyway, I'm new to scrog myself, I just use the one for now, or have been for a few grows here and there.

Your feeding 1000 ppm, is there run off involved? Does Athena recommend runoff between feeds? Since it’s a mineral (salt-based) nutrient line, you usually want some runoff to prevent salt buildup in the root zone. Without it, EC can creep up over time and cause issues later. Don't want that accumulating in the soil.

With the scrog in place, it seems like it would be a hell of job to get auto pots underneath there. Like Hossgrows said, try them later on. Looking awesome. Which one is which? I have some Gorilla Cookies coming in the mail, but won't be getting to them till July - August. Excited to see what we get here.

Oh yes I do water until runoff. I forgot to add that part. I’m just curious to tinker with new toys to see if I can improve my overall yield in the end. I have a 5x5x7 ft grow tent in my barn but I’m missing some feet and poles so I’m gonna order a cheap one online and run in that also. Going from 9 sqft to 25 is going to be nice. I’m addicted to growing and I love to just push myself each grow and try to outperform the last one.

Oh I’m not going to use them on this run lol no way I’m messing with that net and messing up what I have going to this point. Thanks for the feedback!! I’m impressed with this nutrient lineup. It’s been my favorite by far compared to others I’ve tried to this point. Oh and I fed these plants a round of recharge this watering with my nutrients. The nutrients won’t strip the microbes of the recharge will it? I never even thought of that before doing it smh.

It looks like your trying to combine a soiless hydroponic grow with a living soil grow. It would appear to me you would be washing out the nutrients (with the runoff) from the living soil with your salt based nutrient line (Athena Blend). Maybe someone who uses Athena Blend can give some advice but this appears somewhat unusal to me although I may be wrong.

The nutrients feed the plant directly, really don't need microbes unless your using organic amendments to feed the soil, which your not, your feeding the plant directly, so no need for microbes. plant can absorb your mineral based bottled nutrients without microbes.

he's using a mix of coco coir and peat moss based soil media, so he's OK to just use the mineral based solution on it's own. Look at the plant, it's healthy. Just as long as he continues the runoff, he'll be fine. Easy to confuse feeding the soil vs feeding the plant when your new at this. He's feeding the plant directly with his style right now. In organics the nutrients sit and hang out around the root site, with bottled salt based nutrients (like Anthena), they pass through. There's a difference. Both viable. Just a different philosophy and approach to growing between the two.

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback!!! I’m always appreciative to hear from well established growers who know for sure what is what. This helps me become a better grower. Not only am I just growing the plants but I’m getting to learn why they grow this way vs that way due to this change or not if that makes sense. I want to understand this process as thoroughly as I can so the help everyone is giving me is tremendous!! Thank you again!

Yes I am aware of what he is using, the condition of his plants at this time based on the pictures. I was just pointing out in a subtle way that he is probabaly just growing hydroponicly and the soil mixture is likly just wasted.
I have noticed that if some diplomacy is not used when commenting, often people get the wrong idea and are offended.

As long as we are learning new things from each other that’s all that matters imo. I love the honest and genuine dialogue amongst growers on here. I appreciate everyone giving me feedback and doing it in a respectful manner at that. I’ve noticed on the YouTube shows from large account growers that they don’t tell us everything they are doing because they wouldn’t have viewers if they did or at least that’s what they think I’m sure. Much love to all of you!! 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚

The idea is to raise healthy plants, and to never see deficiencys. Then make single changes, and note it's worth..or not. Your only going to do so much with your growing medium and nutes, compared to organic nutes, and their uptake.

Yours is fast food, constantly at the grill, where organics is low n slow style, cooking till she's done.

Another update on using a scrog. I’m on the start of week two flower. Luckily only another week left and then letting these girls grow wild above the net finally. Nothing too exciting except for more tucking lol.
