Outdoor grower 1st time growing indoors

Been growing outdoors for several years and tired of fighting with everything from weather to pesky insects. So I went and bought a vivosun 3x3 kit. Im germinating seeds tonight and got a few ?s for you all. Like what % the light should be on for day 1 and how high above seedlings. how many hours to run lights, when to turn up lights etc... All the standard first time ?s. Im planning on doing 2 plants in the 3x3. A wedding cake and a tangie. Both autos. all advise/opinions are welcome.

Dang we just talked about the light part in another thread.
Don't remember what tread but i took notes cos know very little about that.
These are the guidelines i got:
Seedlings 200 - 400
Vegging 400 - 600
Flower 600 - 1000
ppfd

Sorry i can't really help more i'm new'ish too.

Although maybe consider two more plants depending how you wanna grow.

Oh i forgot to ad that it's guidelines. I've seem people go lower than 200 in seedling for example and also up to 1200 i think in flowers. I all depends.
It is also a very big question you ask.

I would say the biggest factor in getting your seeds to take off is soil temp, if its over 22 oC they will thrive , if its under 19 they wont like it..Are you growing in soil ? i just popped mine with the light at 20% and about 12 '' away, then after 2 weeks move it up , depending on what you want . i use to have my light at 20''+ which makes them stretch, so now because i want them small i am keeping it lower (i am in a 3x3 cupboard as well)

I just finished my first grow indoors and I grew Northern Lights Autos. Things I've learned.

I overfed them one time and they struggled the rest of their lives. They only need HALF what the recommended rate is for photos. When I grew them outdoors, if I overfed them it would get washed out by the rain or hose water.

Another is, fans, you got to keep the air moving. Not like a windy day, just gentle movement. Yep, I windburned mine when I had the fan too close and too high a speed.

Keeping temperature and lighting and humidity in balance without too many changes is best. Learn about VPD.
And, of course, each strain has it's own preferred climate.

The experienced growers make it look so easy, but it's not like outdoors, AT ALL. LOL

By now you have already dropped your seed in the hole. I drop directly into the pot to germ w/Bavaria Bassianna along with root wise (fungi), 5-6 days later i start tracking as seedling. 14-21days later transplant potentially flip. Not sure how your footprint is set up but having a flower and veg tent is paramount. If you bought your tent (flowering) then your next is to build a veg tent or (hack). If you are looking for settings in the environmental protocol, the Buildasoil protocols and feed schedules above are spot on. However, there are techniques for soil and coco. Decide what is best for you, just make sure you get with soil guys or coco guys to better refine your questions.
Learning: look over the feed/protocol if there is something you don't understand you will have to learn it. For example PAR/PPFD some have issues.

U might look at others threads, who are growing like u want to. For direction.
I think about growing indoors, but the cost out weighs the return, for me.

I see a lot of guys doing great with them, but what I see mostly is folks fighting with them (Autos). Not much u can do to them besides LST. "Anything" that disrupts their grow can cause failure.

If I did move inside I'd grow photos, and flip the light timing after some time vegging, for better yields.

Best of luck to ya, playing God and mother nature, it's all in your hands now. Bugs, mold and diseases don't care where your growing, they still persist. Proper IPM goes both ways.

there is an IPM regiment if you in soil. and its pretty effective.

The thing with seedlings is that there are many opinions on when veg starts and how to germinate. Well, I can honestly say side by side germ in coco plug and germ directly in soil there is a big difference, the one sprouted first was soil and the stock/stem was nice, green and robust. the coco plug was still good just not as robust.

As for the lighting, I'm using the ion beam16" for veg and spider farmer g1500, it's a small one plant light.
Germ: the ion beam settings for when the seed emerges/sprouts is as low as 150par for whatever height it is, if I need 200par I stack totes and buckets to match the 10% setting which is level 1.
seedling sprouts into the low par lighting.
