Defoliation is a preference and it’s not always optimal thing to do. It actually can have bad effect on the yield.

Sorry, but I can’t agree disagree more on your advice to defoliate.

I’m outa here fed up with bro science and AI slop

I get it but foil is frowned upon in the grow world for the most part. Yeah, its shiny but but only reflects 50% or so a flat white paint is best. If ya want shiny stuff mylar is a good choice.
I had 2 herm in early flower after trying to scrog. Was a sad day. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Well maybe I would.

Day 27 of flower. She’s a little crowded but still doing well.
Bro, I tell ya one of my Floater screens would do you some good in controlling this tent. Not this round but the next.

Im not here to scold ya but your loosing a ton of light penetration on your canopy.

With a little training and a floater that tent could be a much more managed plant.

This whole plant is in a 21x20 floater screen. The entire thing is less than 30" from the floor. Never any height issues with floaters and everything is mobile.

Before I disappear your bang on
Not only does it not reflect well it also create hotspots.
For good reflection as well as Mylar you can also use flat white paint.

Correct, but for the sake of science and what someone has on hand the kitchen is usually closer than the grow store lol.. but for those wondering:
MaterialReflectivityReflection Type
Orca Film94–99%Diffuse
Foylon95–97%Semi diffuse
Mylar92–97%Specular
Flat White Paint85–95%Diffuse
Panda Film85–92%Diffuse

Tin Foil55–70%Random
All of which are better than 0% :)

Well, id chalk that up to genetics. Scrogs and training do not cause hermies. If that were the case every plant I grow would do so.
I had taken clones so will find out but don't think I will mess around to much in early flower. Try to take care of everything in veg. Was a perm marker from blimburn and a cherry sumthin from seedsman

Yeah man, I doubt you caused this in any way. I mean take a gander at my thread. Im pretty fucking brutal with plants on a daily basis. Good stress ir should I say common sense stress.

Its not like I just started either. I been bending, crushing, and scrogging since the 90s.

Light issue leaks and genetics is where I go when one hermies on me. 9 times outta 10 its a feminized seed...which is nothing but a glorified stable hermie really..lol

We're those testers from Grimm? I've got a few friends growing out BG seed testers with some awesome results.

I'm a newbie to it all . Not sure about the testers. Hopefully it's something I did and not male seeds and I took clones from just to find out again.

Looks awesome Z. Ya make it look easy.

Tell me why you cloned the hermie? I seriously hate to say this but the odds are huge this will be another hermie.

A clone is an exact copy..so What's your thoughts on that?

Id start something new right away. I hate to say that cause these clones look fantastic...but.

Im kinda shocked someone didn't being that t your attention

What? You don’t wanna look like Rickey from trailer park boys? I thought that was the whole goal here.

Barnacle scale or sap bead? Any thoughts found 2 or 3 leaves like this one.

Edit: when dropped into water they spin rapidly until they vanish entirely seconds later. I think it’s a sugar pearl.

I'm a big fan of shiny stuff or even white to reflect light lower down, you can literally see the lower canopy getting lit up.

I've got my light surrounded by flat mylar the difference is big especially around the perimeter that's where biggest difference is gradually fading towards the middle but there's still an increase in center spot.

Surrounding it with my mylar doesn't quite eradicate the center spot but nearly does, to offset any discrepancy I put the shortest in the middle 🤭

I don't want to go on but a pic is worth a 1000 words, i found some pics before and after the mylar.

That's a 50% increase on the lux meter its not a token amount of light the mylar is only ± $25 for a 10x1.2 mtr roll.

I took the clone prior to seeing the sacs and I guess it's lack of knowledge. If I had it to do over again I would have tossed the clone as soon as I found out. But on another note im in the first week of flower and still no sign of nuts. Im hoping she stays a she.

Lets hope so. I didn't wanna tell ya that but I thought ya might wanna know and be on the look out.

Usually around 3wks in they blow if they are going to but ive had hermie bananas show up at 7wks into flower as well.

Odds are you did nothing to cause hermies. Your environment is good so its just a genetic roll of the dice.

It doesn't have to be like this BB..lol You can tame these bitches. Your loosing a ton of good light with that tall canopy.

I use what I call floater screens. A 18x18 would do you some justice in there and increase your yeild.

That looks fantastic and I certainly agree with you. Unfortunately my grow space is 12x12 so I purposely didn’t spread things out too much because if the sides.

Last I read, using a mirror to reflect useable light onto plants is a waster of time. I cant recall the reasons. It was rather scientific jargon.
