Not sure if this was a good idea or not , but I added a second Mars Hydro TS-1000 to my 2.5X2.5 grow tent due to some areas receiving very little light. I’m running both lights at 40% and I feel like I’m still getting light stess. New growth looks yellow , some twisting of the leaves, down curled tips , taco leaves on the upper canopy. According to the PPFD meter I’m not over 600 anywhere in the tent. Mars Hydro recommended a 12 inch distance for the light, but these girls were getting smoked at that distance , even with the one light. I feed once a week with a 6.2-6.4 solution, nothing too heavy. In between waterings I use PH balanced RO water. I feel like I have the environment dialed in pretty good , but i can’t seem to get a handle on my top growth issue. I’m very close to flipping these plants , i want to make sure any issues are resolved before I do so. This is my first “real” grow so I know some mistakes will be made, i appreciate any feedback.

Well ye if they start to taco and curl upward your lights are a bit much. When you had the single lamp in there, did you run it at 40%? Might as well just use the one and crank it up.

It's hard to see the light stress in the pic. Can I see the position of your fan inside?

I have grown a few plants with both phlizon and mars hydro lights
I also use a ppfd meter , a Spoton to be exact.
I root clones 200 if at all possible. But if there in with the rest ( in the corner)

Vegging plants , well 300 ppfd. Many go higher but I have yet to see that work in my case.

Like the easy bake infomercial “ set it and forget it”

I’m a week into flower and this round I’m 450 at the tips.

Now once I get a bud forming I can ramp some more , 6 maybe. I bump for a day ( turn light up a bit and see what happens , lite its to bright yet )
Then once I get flower size of my pinky I’m at 900 ish.
I run my light wide open throughout and ramp down a bit at the end.

I can only tell you how I water. I use ro and always calmag my water first. 5ml/g then I run my feed , half strength and ph’d
Water to run off .
Next watering it’s ro and calmag only. For me this water will land at 6 ph so no up needed.

Anyhow, these are the rules I live by with my leds and feed .

Good luck with your Plants.

Thank you for the informative responses! I’m noticing my LSD plant (Barney’s Farm) is out performing the other 3 in my tent. I purchased the seeds for the other 3 from Seed Connect. I’m wasn’t very familiar with this seed bank , but I took a chance anyway. I’m wondering if i got some subpar genetics from them. I haven’t had any issues with the LSD, but the other 3 have had some problems here and there, mainly their susceptibility to light stress and weak limbs. At least I think it might be light stress , i attached a few more pics for some input. I only feed once I week, right now I’m about 850ppm for the nutrient solution , 6.3-6.5 ph. My grow light was 60% at 16 inches when these pics were taken.

Plants look healthy other than a few leaves 'taco-ing'. Its an indication of light stress. Are you familiar with the Photone app (free)
Can test your light strength..... Depending on your light, 16" at 60% may be a bit too strong at this stage of life. 👍🏼

I have the Mars Hydro sensor kit , which comes with a PPFD meter. When I took those pictures the highest reading in the tent was 589. I also feel like I might have an overcrowding issue. Not sure if 4 plants in a 2.3x2.3 is going to cause any issues. This is my first tent grow , I know some mistakes will be made, I just want to resolve them as soon as I can.

Overcrowding isnt too bad, you could always trim them right up and remove a lot of the lower growth. 589 ppfd is too much on my room. With my 220 watt LED's im running at 600 ppfd in flower at 24" distance. Its been tricky learning the light intensity and how the heat effects the plants at closer distance.

I ended up taking out one of the plants and putting in on the (screened in) pool deck this morning. I put it out there around 7am (right when the indoor light comes on) and by 2pm I felt like I had a completely different plant. The green was much more vibrant and the slight droop I’ve been experiencing completely resolved itself. I’m not really sure what to think about all this. Luckily, the temperature in my area was in the 80’s today with full sun. Should I take a plant out of the tent here and there and expose it to actual sunlight for daytime light cycle? Would the difference in lighting cause an issue? Please let me know if anyone out there has experience alternating from indoor to outdoor growing. I also cranked up my light to 75% and adjusted my light , the girls seem to be thriving now.

You dont have to take them outside generally, but it doesnt hurt em. Water makes them stand tall and it makes the colors pop, so it may have been a change in rh she needed.

When you take them back inside always check for hitchhikers.
