Hey guys im in my 2nd grow my 1st grow got to harvest but it wasn't a huge success and my buds could of been alot better my bigest problem with my 1st grow was high temperatures above 27 at the end of flower temps above 26 can evaporate terpeans and degrade trichomes. On this grow i changed a few things, im still using coco but im not using 20l fabric pots this time round as I found it very hard to get any run off at all and to get a run off is would have to put in around 5l of solution each feed and doing that I would go through my nutrients really fast, so this time round I opted for 16l plastic pots and this time round I get a run off every feed. Now my problem with this grow is my ec run off. I have 2 plants 1 blue cheese and one biscotti mintz the blue cheese was started 10 days after the biscotti mintz but both went in to flower at the same time my i had a nightmare with my blue cheese and she is well behind my BM due to stress recovery as i stupidly treated her the same way as the biscotti and as she was a younger plant with less of a root zone she got sick and started to claw im guessing due to nitrogen toxicity so she was flushed she responed well to the flush and come back strong then come the 2nd set back a few days after I switched to flower i needed to put my extractor fan up as i was a stupid dick head and didnt do it wen i set up my tent i got lazy and didnt take the plants out while attempting to hang it up it slipped and landed right on top of the blue cheese and spit her right down the centre where she was topped luckily i had my scrog netting up if i hadnt she would of been a gonner i got honey and covered the split then wired her up then tapped her up and prayed lol its incredible how hard and resilient they are i know all that sress has set her back loads but she is starting to stack up now. My problem is with my run off with my biscotti i have plastic pots always get a good run off but the run off is allways higher my intake on one feed was 1.8 and my run off was 2.6 this keeps happening its like she is drinking the water and leaving the nutrients behind she looks good and happy apart from a few leaves at the canopy level turning a little rusty going dry and tacoing i thought it could be my temps or the intensity of the light but this time round i have my light dimmed to 250w giving a ppfd of around 750 and its hung nearly 2ft above and my blue cheese plant isn't showing signs of heat stress and she is closer to the light as she ended up the bigger girl. Why could this be happening to the biscotti ec run off and what can I do I have flushed her down to my ec intake a few times but it keeps rising anyone else have this issue a few pics of my girls included

So it seems that plant is not using all of the 1.8 or you do not have enough runoff. I would flush to 1.5 and increase the runoff while continuing the 1.5 for a few to 3 days and make another determination.

Just my opinion.

I gave her a flush tonight and got her down to 1.7 I used 4l but i added calmag to bring my waters ec up to 0.4 the a little nutrients to bring the ec up to 1.0 got the ph going at 5.8 5.9 water temp 19.c the plant at the top of my post is the one with the run off problem she looks healthy apart from a few leaves tacoing and going a little rusty and they are all in the canopy around the buds all the lower leafs are good and you have nutrient burn usually the lower leaves start to yellow and show there is a problem.. my ec going in last week was a little higher due to me using pk13/14 I only use that for one week and according to my feeding chart I should be giving them an ec of 1.4 to 1.8 now and my ec of the feed iv just made is 1.6 so im only a 1 point over

When your output is higher than input it can mean a couple things but they all require action. The concentration in the soil is going to go up higher than input as soon as it starts evaporating. It will also "climb" when salt has accumulated in dry pockets in the soil the same way salt accumulates at the tide line of the ocean.

If the number is higher than input but dropping, it was just due for a watering and you add a volume that puts the EC in the target range.

If the number is climbing, thats a symptom of accumulation in a dry pocket and the number rises as water reaches the salt and dissolves it. So here too the correction is a volume of water.

Some additional notes, it's a good idea to take a couple runoff readings as youre watering so that you can check if it's rising or falling, and do everything you can to avoid collecting the initial runoff because it can be misleading. It can read unusually high because it's purging an outer drier band, or it can read deceptively low if there's a dry pocket that hasn't gotten wetted yet.

If this is giving you grief you can try switching it up next time and treat your coco a little more like a hydro with daily watering or even multiple fertigations per day. Soil style is great for saving you time without the fertigations but it's a tradeoff. Hydro style is like a super fast speedboat and you can turn on a dime when you need to. Soil style is like a cargo ship and is piloted differently. You're planning your slow turns in advance and if you encounter icebergs, it's gonna take you a minute to steer that ship out of it.

Plant looks gorgeous BTW.
