After 1 year of growing indoors and 1 singular outdoor plant, I’m making a grow diary that I’ll try to keep fairly detailed. I’m making this for new growers to try to learn from and for myself to learn from the experienced growers that often try to look at as many posts as they can. Another motivation was that I noticed a majority of the posts on this website are by experienced growers that are showing off some flower they grew that looks like it couldn’t possibly be any better. When I started growing, I had no horticultural knowledge at all but was saved by some members that could identify issues through just a few images and explain it in a way a new grower could understand, so I hope to be able to do that for others.

Feel free to ask any and all questions, give suggestions, or even chat about anything interesting in this feed.

Start of 1st grow:

One thing I’ve learned and noticed is the grow starts the second you pick your seeds to germinate. I grew from seed to harvest and dried in this tent, so I took 3 weeks off from using the tent. I deep cleaned, using hydrogen peroxide and a miticide even though I had no pests on my most recent grow. I want to begin the grow with everything being clean, and attaches is a picture of the tent before putting any seeds in it.
For what I’m growing this run, I have a durban poison from the company DutchPassion, Bubba Island Kush (Granddaddy Purple x OG Kush) also from Dutch Passion, and 2 Super Skunk x End Game #5 from the breeder Ethos. I grew a multipack from Ethos last grow and each of the strains turned out amazing. Super frosty, resilient, pungent smells, and a super dense end product. DutchPassion I have not grown, but have seen good reviews and wanted to try them. I germinate using both the water glass and paper towel method; I’ll put the seeds in room temp water and cover it so no light gets through, and when the taproot is at least a centimeter long I’ll put it in damp paper towels and cover it with disposable plates. I’ve never had a seed not germinate this way, and I’ve never heard of anyone else doing it this way but it’s super easy and efficient. I’ll update when I put them in the paper towels.

Okay i'm in for the show😉 love the strains your growing. I've grown bubba kush, OG kush and old seed skunk way back when. All mostly outdoors so i'm looking forward to your grow.

My most recent grow I did Kush Cake (OG Kush x Cookies) by Ethos and it turned out great. Smelled amazing even while drying, and only is getting better in grove bags. You should give it a try if you ever run out of Kush strains.

I'm gonna grow a kush strain soon as i get these dumb autos done. A white truffle an gelato also with the kush and make clones of all of them. The clones will be for outdoor this coming season and for trade

Put the seeds in pots, 3/4 germinated so i’m letting it have more time in the wet paper towel and started a Runtz I have plenty of seeds of in case. When I transplant, I’ll dunk the entire pot in water to make sure i’m saturating the whole pot from the start. I find it hard to keep the whole pot saturated after weeks since I like to veg for long periods, so I’ll do this to help with that issue and haven’t had problems other than how much time it takes. I’ll keep the tent around 70-80% rh and won’t bother making a humidity dome, I’ll always start plants like this. Can’t find the basilisk to my 150w veg light so I’ll use my flower light at 10% power well above the plants and give them 20 hours of light. I use FoxFarm HappyFrog during veg and transplant into Ocean Forest with some amendments 2 or 3 weeks before flower, but again I veg for at least 2 months. Since FoxFarm is quick to get fungal gnats, I’ll give nematodes twice during veg. Usually don’t have to feed until flower.

2 weeks since putting the seeds in soil, the kush didn’t sprout, but the rest are starting healthy. Have 1 of the 2 super skunks looking like a runt, but I’ve had some sprout weird and end up being healthy plants so I won’t be worried this early. The runtz seed I sprouted last and had 3 less days is doing the best, a little leggy in the beginning but I turn the light up after giving them a few days of low light. I’ll repot them and give them more time to veg, so what I do is just add some more soil to support the seedlings and then when I repot i’ll bury it so it has better support. Not much to do in the beginning, I’ll most likely not post much as they start out. Keeping the heating mat turned up non stop, humidity above 70, and letting them go.

1 1/2 weeks later, came back after being out of town for 4 days and have all happy plants. Going to top soon, hopefully let the smaller plant catch up.

9 days later, mostly happy plants. I must have had some watering issues with the ILGM runtz, it’s the only one in a 1 gallon pot rather than 2 gallon. All will go into their 5 gallon when they are ready. Since I have two of the same strain, super skunk x end game, I decided to try using LST on the smaller of the two just to give it a try. The Durban Poison is way ahead, so it’s going to be topped more often than the others so that they can catch up since I like using trellis nets. I’ll most likely do 2 trellis nets so that I can help the others catch up even more, but it’ll have to be decided later. Never much to do when the plants are so young.

Had some issues with two of the plants, the runtz and 1/2 of the super skunk. Decided to just do two very large plants instead of having 2 strong plants and two weak ones. Put them into 70 gallon fabric pots, and plan to veg them another 3/4 weeks or so to try and fill up most of this trellis. I’ll have a 2nd trellis for when they stretch. Soil is thriving, and it’s been about a week from transplant and still hardly any gnats. Haven’t used anything to supplement their growth other than a light feeding of an organic top-dress. Lights up to about 25% power, so around 120W. Will work on raising light intensity slowly, the growth is a bit lighter on the durban poison so a little worried it’s getting a bit too much light.

My sequential grow after the previous, looking a little better but still need to work on getting the food just right. ETHOS Wrank multipack, 4 different strains. They have another few weeks, maybe halfway.
