I am near the end of the flower stage of my black African magic and I’ve read some things saying it needs up to 18 weeks to be at perfect stage
But I’m at about week 8 n I don’t think I’m far off to be honest
I’ve kept her as small as I could just don’t wanna fuck it by pulling her to early 🥴..
If anyone can help a brutha out please drop me a msg or something

Hey Dave welcome to the farm

Personally I don't grow sativa's due to their longer flowering periods.

You really need to get a close look at the trichomes

Rule of thumb is to wait until they go from clear to all opaque and just starting to go amber.

Hi, I'm new here but an old grower with bad eyes. I haven't looked through a scope in years. 10 weeks they are done and I start cutting those that look most done then. No one on the planet can smoke a 10 week old ( non heavy sativa's ) bud and say oh shit 3-? more days you'd have nailed her. I've found 8 too early and between 8 and 10 all you get is bulking and maturing on the vine.

Welcome to the community. Breeder notes on finish times are supposed to just give you a rough idea what to expect, they're not instructions to follow. The plant makes that decision for you. There's some time left on that plant. Buds are still throwing fresh hairs. When they start shriveling brown, orange or red and there's no more white ones, you can start looking at the bud trichomes under magnification for a color shift from clear to cloudy to amber as was pointed out in another post.

I looked up your strain because it sounds interesting.
On the same page they say "flowers in 6-8 weeks" Maybe meaning it starts flowering at that time?
They also say "flower time: 12-14 weeks.
And it's supposed to go black or at least dark.

But interesting strain and i like to try it👍

Sorry so late of a reply I busted myself up abit at work n been bit crook last little bit but better now
Ty for replyn mate hey this online stuff is all abit full on to me hey technology scares me lol
Yeh is abit of a weird one hey I actually read a thing some one posted on some site was 20-24 weeks to be at peak maturity I’m like wtf 🤔🙄,I been lookn each day n I rekon it still has abit to go but within the next week or so it should be good to go I rekon
But it definitely hasn’t gone dark it’s gotten red hairs but nothing else that is dark 🥴,I’ll just wait n see hey
I actually got a telescope attachment for my fone from spider farmer turnd up yesterday n there are still far to many clear tries thers only a coulplr of tan colour one n a few cloudy one
But I’ll leave it a few more days n see
I hope is as good as wat I was told 😜

Yeh a few more orange hairs n heaps more tricombs have shown up but also still a few more fresh white hairs but
Sp I gunna leave it for a week or so n give the fresher hairs time to change colour n see how it is from then 😁👍🏾

Yeah man, don't get too hang up on the color. It's different from pheno to pheno.
But another thing i came to think about.
Given the flowering time it looks sativa so it maybe can't put amber trichomes?
I don't know but i just heard something about it?

Almost. A week or so? I've got some that have been milky, full opaque for 7+ days I'm taking down soon

Also look at the hairs, you want them orange, not clear/white but, the trichs determines the characteristics of the final product, the more amber trichs will give you more couch lock, great for sleep. THC is degrading, turning into CBN which can effect our desire for sleep. I sure sheep better because of it.

Clear to opaque can give one a more of a rush high, being uplifted and happy and even energetic. Mainly associated with sativa strains.

To me this is medicine. I grow a hemp, 0.3% THC, never get ya high, great terps, but 13-18% CBD. I make it into a oil sauve 3-1 wirh THC for my wife's diabetic foot pain. Works like champ😉

So, you're close. Plan on washing before harvest? Or maybe dipping branches in a bucket with 3-10% hydrogen peroxide? And another bucket with clean water? It's an option. I'm outdoors so a lot of dirt and dust and I have to spray my plants with neem oil/Jack's Dead Bug/BT to keep them somewhat clean of bugs so I spray them down with a hose sprayer early am and allow them to dry before harvest.

Beautiful looking plants for starters!!!

This is only my guess on what I see and when I'd pull....

They both, without scoping, look like they would be mostly cloudy....

Maybe a couple ambers, but if you're looking for the comatose, I'd push it a lil longer.....

Yeh I had a close up look last night n I rekon one them is ready n the other one is only a day or so off being ready
I’ve spread the buds open as much as I possibly could n I rekon it’s just polished yhem off well😁😁
But I really appreciate u commenting to me mate hey
I’m in Australia n it’s just starting to get really cold
But I have got a shipping container that I’m going g to dry n cure the plants in n I’ve got humidifier n fans n a proper tube heater thing n fans n stuff I will set it up tonight I rekon n I’ll hang the buds in there👍🏾,
Hey quick question it better to pull the whole plant n hang it roots n all or just cut at the soil level n Hang the plant
Or just cut it off an arm at a time n hang individually
Wat would you do mate??
