These little seedlings have been through it this spring - weeks of very cold nights and most days (lowest 28 i think) and 2 light snows (1 inch or less) But I guess thats been the case for every plant that lives outside, and theyre all alive as well. So maybe its not impressive...

These are just some of the (many) seeds that fell off my porch last fall, not purposely planted. I saw them sprout sometime at the end of march when we had a few 80 degree days, but did not expect them to survive.
They definitlely got stunted - but still kickin.

Is this just a normal thing for seedlings of any type - or should I be impressed?

Im just curious if its a strain thing (increased cold resistance) or just something every seedling would do.

Not sure what I can do with them anyway, maybe too late to seperate some of them. And this pot (and others) belongs to my gf so shes not happy to see 100 pot plants poppin out of every one under the porch - theres a cull coming regardless, Ill definitely save some if I can.

I don’t think it’s a strain thing! It just didn’t stay below, freezing long enough to freeze them solid and kill them! Extended periods of time below freezing, are what’s known as a hard freeze! That can be fatal! So can pissing off your girlfriend!😆 can’t you just go buy similar pot and throw some dirt in it and give it to her and tell her to stay the fuck away from your pot!😇 You can always snip the ones you don’t want off a little below the soil line and grow what you decide to keep!

Its a delicate balance - I already have the porch.

Looks good, y know canna is just a fancy weed and grows stronger as most think.
When they get warmer days and nights they can bounce back.
Imo y can easily separate them with a little attention. Just buy some new smaller pots and throw them in there, so she got her pot back 😏😅

ive been wondering about cold temps, i have a gorilla zkittles outside , about 3 weeks into flower and last week we had warm summer like days but at night the soil temp went down to 10 oC . if they get a cold shock do they take a few days to start up again? , because this one seems to have stalled ...the white hairs came out but then stayed quite short ? they were put in a plastic greenhouse over night .

I would have to get 5 pots ready and transplant them, ive had seedlings before with no soil on the roots, took them outside , rammed them in the soil in a sunny spot and they grew...you could get all of them growing ,

Guess it won't grow much taller because the stretch should be mostly over, cold shock will delay flowering but if the rootzone get warmer she will be just fine, maybe a little yield less though.

Agreed! 50° isn’t too bad! Just put a little temporary hitch in there git along! A little larger pots can act as a buffer in that respect! You’ll be OK!😁🐒 just adjust your watering accordingly!

thanks for that, she is half the size of her indoor sisters, but we have had such a good warm spring i put her outside, i topped it and you can see where it stretched from , where the V starts, seems healthy otherwise...I must admit its getting a bit of abuse in the form of irregular watering.

Unfortunately all my space is spoken for - so maybe Ill see if I can give some away. My veg tent is overgrown with what was supposed to be my outdoor plants for this season (i was way off)

Someday when the weather breaks Ill put them out to my only good growing space.

And Ive got 2 in flower. Probably 4 weeks left on the strawberry cough and 6 left for the green crack.

And just got some new seeds Im excited about, so my next project is decided as well. So, these little dudes have to go - somewhere else.
