Seeds (Larry's OG - Tahoe) dropped to the bottom of the water bottle. They are good to go. Tucked away in seed starter plugs. All up to mother nature now. 🌿

About the bugs

Maybe you know the soap spray.

If not and you're interested i got the recespie.
Just have to check what the soap is called in english.

I've used myself back in time, not on weed though, But it's only made of clean soap and alcohol.
Takes some work but all metodes does.

I made this search to better explain.
It's not a perfect description but you get the idea.

Insecticidal soap is a contact pesticide made from potassium salts of fatty acids that kills soft-bodied pests like aphids, spider mites, whiteflies, and mealybugs by disrupting their cell membranes and causing dehydration. It is distinct from traditional insecticides because it has no residual activity once dry and must physically coat the pest to be effective.

While many commercial products are clear or white, some formulations or homemade mixes may appear brown or amber depending on the base soap used. Key application guidelines include:

  • Safety: It is generally safe for use on food crops up to the day of harvest and poses low toxicity to mammals, though it can irritate skin or eyes.
  • Timing: Apply in the early morning or late evening to avoid rapid drying and leaf scorch, especially when temperatures exceed 90°F.
  • Coverage: Spray thoroughly until the solution drips, ensuring contact with the undersides of leaves where pests often hide.
  • Limitations: It is ineffective against hard-bodied pests like beetles and does not kill insect eggs; repeated applications every 7–10 days are often necessary.
  • Plant Sensitivity: Some plants (e.g., Japanese maple, bleeding heart, ferns) are sensitive to soap and may suffer phytotoxicity, so a spot test is recommended before full application.

I wasn't sure which strain was gonna be next, between Headbanger, Cap Junky, GMO, SuperBoof, and a few I've forgotten about already... 🙄 Saw a post on the Larry OG and that made me forget about everything. Almost went with Gas Pedal. But keeping it somewhat Old School decided to jump to a run that didn't happen because of seeds not germinating. Larry OG.
I saw a post reading that Chamomile tea was great for softening up hard stubborn seeds so that was why I soaked them in that for 24 hours.
Cali Connection kept the Larry OG going with the original Cut of the Larry OG and crossing it to a male Tahoe OG for the Feminized seeds and they crossed the Larry Cut to SFV for the Regular seeds.
I'm currently trying to get the Larry Tahoe feminized seeds going. The Larry Tahoe seeds are said to be the heavier louder Danker of the two. That if you want that Super Lemon Larry Lemon Larry OG stank... Get the regular beans. Which we did today. Took advantage of the Mother's Day sale. Depending how these Tahoe come out (if they came out) we might jump into a Larry SFV run. Everything got pushed back a little as far as what's next after that but I am long over due on a couple GMO runs. Have about three to four different flavors of the GMO on hand. Might just run them all, squeeze them in the garage tent this Fall. That's the plan for now. Larry OG run during Summer and then GMO flavor runs in the Fall. 😼

Can't speak for Dr Bronners soap.
Just checked and it doesn't look right. That's for body wash. Probably got smell.

The normal recespie in my country was a certain soap I think it's called soft soap or brown soft soap. Or potassium soap
We use the brown soft soap. It's super alcaline. Used for cleaning everything but painted surfaces. pure vegetable
If you want to check if you got the right one, then check what it made of.
The soft brown soap i know is made from water, potassium carbonate, potassium hydroxide, potassium chloride, potassium silicate.

Get some without additives and perfume.

But:
1/2 liter water RO best
1 tablespoon soap
1 tablespoon 97% alcohol. That's probably the most toxic if you dont use drinking alcohol. Or use for example 3 tablespoon cheap vodka instead.

Shake well.
Try a leaf first to check if it's too strong. If it is, use double water.
Spray just before light out or sunset.
Works with contact so spray under leafs too. And not set interval of spraying imo. Go for what you see. Because some say every 4 day and others every 10 til gone.
It will have some preventive effect for some days too. Not 100% but some. So see how long it works.
Works against mites and some flies too. Not on hard shell insects and some eggs.

Don't use it if you use other insects to combat them.

There are other soaps that can be used. I just know this one.

And also i find that squeezing the tops enough to mash the aphids is better than them sucking and mutating the new leafs to curl and make them even harder to remove. it can really limit the multiplication and the damage while you spray. Careful of course.
You can also hose them of but they will climb back up if they can.

Lots of ways to do things. Just what i know. Hope you get some inspiration.

Best of luck, i almost got aphids my self in my weed. Last year i bought an insect eating plant that ironically enough had aphids.

Thanks, I will for sure give this a try. I have some insects coming in to deal with aphids. But with the heat here in the desert I highly doubt they will survive. I think I'll make some of this now till they get here. Awesome.

Random Thoughts...

My Sharpstone grinder, gift from my brother n law. Gonna replace it soon with stainless steel Brilliant Cut Grinder. Heard some good reviews in that one, but dam, they're back logged on orders. Finally got a shipment notice 6 weeks later 😐

And my wine cooler, the one I made to slow dry my herb after harvest. Sitting there unused when not used. And for couple years me using an ice chest to stash my stash in a cool space. I was sitting there just looking at the wine cooler couple weeks ago and thought.... Why the fuck am I not storing my shit in this when it's just sitting there ... 😐 Ahhh yeah .. I amaze myself sometimes. 🙄

Hey man i've been reading some treads. So sorry about i mentioned you couldn't use dr bonners soap.
Maybe i looked at the wrong dr bonner soap because it was all for human body use.
It might be that it made the same way as i described. I still don't know.
Just wanted to mention.

And i'm not making fun of you but i can help smiling a bit when you mention your plant stretch.
Man i have had some stretch so crazy i had to dump the plant. I can't grow a plant with 20 cm node spacing.
I think i got a picture of one somewhere. I can try to find it if you wanna se it.

Lol, happened to me on my very first grow. I literally cut the plant in half to save myself! 😂 Sure let me see the picture.

Didn't have a picture before i threw it out, but the sister that wasn't wild.
That bud leaning on the wall became huge but the weed was bad. Really bad. But first plant this time around. Seed from a bud i bought.

Beautiful structure there. My personal favorite.. giant colas. The OGs and Cookies come out smaller but they do pack a punch. (Your grow) Reminds me of the Skunk #1 and Super Silver Haze I grew back when.

What do you use for lighting?

That's the thing about growing here, when you find a keeper ... Keep Her! But most of the time for the casual grower like ourselves it's weeks after we harvest that we realize we should have kept a mother of this thing 😐
I unfortunately don't have the room to keep clones and mothers around. So scanning the horizon it is for now. Growing to get a feel for the strain.

Chonks, dude!🤩 love the critters in the pic : )

My right pot pheno of the AK47 leans to the indica side and it seems to be suffering from the environment conditions I laid out. Not by a lot but it's slowly creeping up. Apparently I had the tent set at 170 VPD (or higher). I completely forgot about the leaf temperature offset we set 5-6 weeks ago of -5. The dryer air was pushing the right pot to transpire faster than what an indica plant is used too. Sativa dig this environment, evidence of the Sativa heavy (left plant) just cruising along fine. I measured the Indica heavy plant and it was only 2 degrees off (not the 5 we measured back then). We reset the leaf temperature offset to -2. That's when the epiphany happened. When I realized all the above. We raised the dehumidifier to 50% (up from 45%) and lowered the lights 10% just to help the poor indica plant recover a bit. I think I went through this same song and dance with the last grow. So checking your leaf surface temps once a week is the key here?

I think we caught the adjustments in time. I foliar fed the hungry lady there, took a chance, it’s a little late for that but standing there doing nothing was driving me nuts. Bottom watering is interesting. The water can take 24 to 36 hours to make its way to the top. I’m constantly monitoring the moisture level of the pots.
The stretch period is still active for both plants, really old school growth here, last plant that stretched for 4 weeks (that I grew) was the Skunk #1.
This has been a fun grow for me. Still learning stuff. Always learning.

AK47 3.5 weeks into it
