Favorite past time when pulling kitchen duty in the county lockup, making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in an assembly line fashion and trying to catch the flies landing on them by slapping the bread together quickly so that there's some extra protein for whoever gets it 😜🤣

Reversed a few small aux branches which popped a few balls at each node, let em fly for 2 days and then removed em. Turns out a few stray ball sacks on tiny aux branches can near on totally pollinate the whole tent.

Crazy as I've reversed a few plants and these have been the most productive pollen wise from a very small amount of she dicks. Some have absolutely caked a whole cola in ball sacks and barely throw out pollen..

Had a blast. Great meal as always. Mrs got a bunch of stuff and says "Thank You All" for the bday wishes
and I got a new tray

That's what happened on my 2nd attempt, balled up, no pollen and no seeds. All kinds of pollen balls. I wasn't home but once a day for a week with the Mrs in the hospital with appendicitis so I wasn't able to really monitor the plants. Going to try again soon.

Ive found its hit and miss with some strains for sure. This bird was keen though.

Ended up so pollinated on some branches that they are dying off with a few weeks left to go. Other branches were kinda shielded.

I've had hermies that have popped more balls that this reversal but luckily they were sterile too. Kinda makes me paranoid to get a few stray balls here and there now as I never imagined how much seed could come from a barely detectable reversal.

Fingers crossed for next attempt mate.

I was going through some of my older posts, 2018-2019 (yeah, I've been here for awhile) and found some cool pics to share

I didn't make this cross but was given some seeds by a client in 2016 who is a 2nd generation grower

Loved, grew and bred this strain for several years

Until a gopher took down my best one. I named the strain Gopher.

I've run into a lot of snakes in my time as a plumber in North County
Plumbers grow diary 7

This big ass Gopher Snake was sunning herself and wasn't happy with me bothering her but the home has 7 kids being homeschooled and I was able to give them all a presentation on Gopher snakes and they got to touch a real live snake for the first time. Except for the youngest who wanted nothing to do with the snake🤣 The next time I went there I saw 3 King Snakes in the front yard.

We have a lot of Bluebellied lizards in North County
20190328 140112

This one was a buddy as I use to raise meal worms for fishing and would keep a couple dozen on the patio and would feed the lizards and sparrows

We also have Alligator lizards

Not as poisonous as the Black Widow variety, which we also have here but still don't want to be bitten by either.

Stan

Neighbor had him sitting on his riding mower so I went out early one day and set him on an old toilet.

We took him camping (you can see Lake Jennings in the background) and took some fun pictures. One of him in a trashcan we had firewood in and named the pic "Stan got trashed." As my wife would say, "12 year old humor."🤣

Hey hats off to the grower who suggested flash photography and grow lights to minimum.
That was a great suggestion.

I grew a male and female in the same 2x2 and let the male dump pollen for three weeks straight. The result was over 2.5 ounces of viable regular seeds from a plant that was in a one gallon pot.

So that was the result of three weeks worth of pollen being dumped, my latest accidental breeding project was the result of misidentification of a male Mekong Thai that was yanked too late, thus resulting in a cross between Cali Blue and Mekong Thai, as well as Banjo Blaster and Mekong Thai. That pollination happened later in the flowering cycle and was short lived but still produced a decent amount of viable seeds. But also left me with decent sized buds and a higher flower to seed ratio.
Here’s the Cali Blue pre harvest:
