I don't play with hydro but that's probably the same thing that happens in soil. High or unstable EC causing cal mag turbulence. Potassium issues (likely in the form of edge crisping) isn't far behind if it's not addressed.

I'm just finishing up my first DWC hydro grow. The hottest I ran my solution was EC 1600, but generally run comfortably around EC1200-1400. I had one instance where my res got low and my EC spiked to 2200 and I started getting tip burn and some spotting and clawing. Did a change to bring it back to normal and the problem seems to have not come back. As Ninja pointed out, a high EC can lock out certain nutrients, just like pH can. Also, 5.6 pH is a little low. From what I understand, 5.5-6.5 is the "acceptable" range, with 5.8-6.0 being the sweet spot. There are certain nutrients that won't be taken in below a certain point.

When you top up, do you use straight tap water, distilled/RO water and is it pure or nutrient amended at that point? Just curious how your EC got so high.

Cheers,

BA.

BA,
Much appreciated info ...Yes I did Major boobo on that made I did toss together a transfer pump as Yes I am tired, in my old tired bone state, But it will not happen again. They are comming back but way too late as they are into LAST of flower & this also being my first go round with DWC & Auto's ,But love it going to RDWC as I had major streak of good fourtune (tell ya some time) But as a Very Newish newbie I take it as a lesson YT cant teach. As well as info I can share here... As you can see they look horible ,But alas THC Farmer to the rescue what was that called "Hall of Justice" might be putting a sell by stamp on me But thats what I think of this place as...LoL
