Morning, folks. Update time!

My girl seems to have recovered nicely from the hot solution issue from earlier in the week. I'm adding about 2 to 3L of water to the reservoir per day now, and topping the nutrients up to maintain an EC around 1.5 pH is steady at around 5.8 and very slowly drifting up to around 6.2 before I correct it back down again. I've cut back on the Flora Grow and increased the feed for the Flora Bloom and it seems to be working. Buds are stacking up nicely, some of them are 14" long and really starting to fatten up. This is week 4 of flowering now so most likely another 5 to 6 weeks left before harvest time. I'll let the plant tell me when she's ready rather than a hard target date. I'm aiming for around 5% amber trichomes and all the pistils nice and curled in and orange.

The new tent is really a game changer, I'm finding. It's so much easier to maintain that perfect environment with the added 20" of head room. I've got lots of air movement without being a leaf shaker, daytime temps are around 75F and 50% RH while nighttime temps are around 67F and 48% RH. VPD is in that happy range, and I'm getting a TON of light penetration between the SE4500 and the 4 side light bars from the Glow30. Making those hurdle style mounts has really helped, as I can move them closer or farther away, and rotate the angle on the bar as needed. Gotta make up 2 more, I think, for the other 2 bars before the next grow.

Anyway, enough of the novel. On to the pics!

Here's a couple of the overall canopy.

Afternoon, folks. Update time.

So, we're 4-1/2 weeks into flowering now. Not much really to say. EC is staying steady at around 1.4 and pH is steady at 5.8-5.9. Temps are about 67F during the night and 77F during the day, humidity is around 48% at night and mid 50's during the day. Seems I've moved past the nute burn situation. The small clawed leaves are the only remaining issue, but new growth is coming in light/lime green and nicely shaped. The buds are getting fatter and they're starting to all interconnect. Should have some really nice big, fat buds in a few more weeks. Trichomes are starting to show up everywhere, too, although obviously still clear.

Anyway, on to the pics.

Afternoon, folks. Update time.

Well, it's been a week since my last update. Done a res change cutting back on the Flora Grow and increasing the Bloom and CaliMag. I also rotated the entire plant 180 degrees when I had her out for the change. EC is sitting stable now at 1.3 and my pH seems to like drifting to around 5.9 from the 5.8 I set it to. Doesn't seem to drift much higher than about 6.0 but once I add another 4L of distilled water it brings it back down to 5.6-5.7 and I bump it up just a hair to get back to 5.8...where it drifts up to 5.9...and then I add 4L of blah blah blah (you get the picture.) She's drinking about 4L a day at this point.

Buds are continuing to stack up and get fatter and fatter, for the most part. Some of the spears are now over 18" long and around 2-3" thick. Pistils are still coming in nice and white, so I'm still several weeks away from harvest time. I'm 12 weeks in at this point since she emerged from seed and went into the DWC system. Still have some leaves damaged from when she ran too hot when the water level got too low, but all new growth since then seems normal so that's a good sign.

Anyway, on to the pics.

Here's a shot of the roots from the res change 2 days ago:

Here's a couple shots of my autos. I'm thinking about two more weeks. I've been pumping hydroponics ripening into them the last two or three times I've been adding water

Looks awesome brother! Keep up the great work. Love them root size
Thanks, aj. Despite the couple of challenges I've encountered along the way I'm really happy with the way she's turning out.

Cheers,

Those are definitely some nice looking girls, aj! How long since seed are they? I'm planning on putting up a greenhouse at the trailer in a few weeks and starting 4 plants...and some tomato plants to keep the g/f happy 🤣😉 I'm still undecided whether to go auto from seeds or photo from clones. I figure with autos, I can definitely get a full harvest and possibly 2 prior to the park closing in mid October, but with a photo, there's always the chance she won't be ready to harvest when I'm ready to close the trailer at the end of the season. The good thing is the park manager talked to the new owners and straight up asked if they're okay if people grow some pot plants on their lots. The owners said "No problem at all". It was all up in the air when the new owners bought the park whether or not they'd object, but turns out they're just fine with it. So, 9.6x6.5x6.2 greenhouse going in on the back of the lot in the next few weeks.

Greenhouse

It's on amazon right now for $106 CDN and takes a day to get here. Rain proof, but allows all the light to pass through it. Screened windows on each side so I can get airflow without bugs, and I'll keep the front closed other than to go in and out. There's a few others at my park who grow some plants, but they basically stick a clone in a 5 gallon bucket with garden soil and add regular water from the well, no testing, no nutes, no training or pruning, just "plant and pray"...and then they wonder why they can't even get an ounce off a plant! Once I make up my mind and get things together over the next couple of weeks I'll start a new grow diary for my outdoor grow. The added advantage of doing autos is if I can harvest early enough to get a second run going, I can use the buds from the first crop to make a shit-ton of gummies and some extract with the resin press my buddy has, and we can all sit around the fire, drinking beers and tripping on gummies!

Cheers,

BA.

Hi, folks. Update time.

Well, it's been a couple of weeks since I last updated this diary, (sorry 'bout that...been busy opening the trailer and crazy busy with work) so here goes.

We recently had a warm spell come through, and temps in the tent hit very high 80's (89.5F was the highest) so I put a portable AC unit in there to cool things down. Now, I'm sitting at a comfy 74F during the day and around 60-62F at night. Humidity is staying around 45-55%, so right where I wanted it. Luckily, those high temps only hit it for one day, so no damage done.

We're on week 8 of flowering, and I'm thinking this coming week might be harvest time! Trichomes are turning milky with not a lot of clear ones left, and probably about 0.1% turning amber so far. I've noticed a huge increase in frostiness over the last week, and have to wonder if that's just this stage of the growth or did the AC bringing the temps down to 60F overnight have anything to do with it. Any thoughts on that would be appreciated!

Buds have really fattened up, pistils are turning that nice burnt orange colour, although there's still some white ones left, hence me thinking another week before harvest. If anyone has a better idea on that from the pics below, please, let me know as this is only my second indoor grow and first using a hydroponic setup. You can see the leaves changing colour, too, as she cannibalizes herself in this late stage.

Anyway, on to the pics!

Here's one for comparison on the size of the buds. The water bottle is an empty 4L bottle sitting on the scrog net:

Hi, folks. Update time.

So, I'm honestly thinking another week to 10 days at the most and she'll be ready for harvest. Did a res change this morning, EC is sitting around 1.1 and pH is dialed in at 5.8 so all is good there. Roots have become massive, no wonder she's drinking 4L of distilled water per day! Trichomes are really coming into their own now. You can see the frost on the buds thickening up nicely. Still a lot of clear trichomes, but more and more are getting cloudy every day when I check. Spun the plant around when I put the reservoir back in the tent today, and readjusted my side lights for maximum penetration. Thank the gods this will be the last time I have to do this! She's getting a little top heavy and is becoming hard to manage when I slide the bucket out of the tent (unclipping the scrog net and letting it hang in the branches during the transfer).

Anyway, on to the pics.

Here's a general overall shot of her back in the tent.

And here's some closeups of individual buds. You can really see the crystals shining in these shots.

Good job man. Really looking good
Thanks, aj. It's been a learning process, that's for sure. But, for a first attempt at DWC, I'm quite happy with the results. I'm certainly looking forward to getting her cut down and drying. Having to make sure I pop home on the weekends when I'm at the trailer just to top up the res is getting to be a bit of a pain in the ass, even though it's less than 20 minutes away.

Cheers,

BA.

What do you think of the dwc? Are you going to continue or are you going to go back to the soil

Oh, I definitely stick with hydroponics for my indoor grows from here out. I might change it to a RDWC system as it's much easier to do res changes, but honestly, after seeing the difference in quality and yield, I can't justify going back. Also, once it's up and running, it's very very simple. No chance of over/under watering, either.

That being said, I'll be popping some auto seeds in the next week or so to put outdoors in soil at the trailer.
