A little late for the week, but here’s Sunday’s haircut… I did have a few training phopah’s and broke some branches accidentally. Good thing I have the whole summer to grow em out.
In the ground, grow bags and greenhouse. Hudson valley NY.
If having the perfect set up and I could choose, this would be it!

Hope everyone’s enjoying the new format:)
I am!!!
Big shout out to @logic for making THE FARM what it is today.
Still working out my irrigation situation:)
More good positive vibes on the way this summer!!!
Love to all you THC FARMERS out there🙏❤️

This is my first year doing it this way. Traditionally, I’ve gone 30 gallon pots, but after the grow season I’d pull the pots to clean everything out, and it was one MASSIVE rootball all twisted and bound up.

Figured I’d give the girls more room to spread their “legs,” and dug down about 2 feet, amended this shit out of the soil with my own compost and chicken manure, then built a few raised beds over the holes and added more compost, and soil.

To be fully open, I’m kind of concerned how big they’re going to get. I’m going to have to top and LST like crazy to keep them from getting too big. My grows are legal, but I havr shitty neighbors and would rather not deal with that hassle by having monsters hanging over the fence. Lol.

It's one of only a handful of indigenous fruit trees in No. America. They have a unique flavor. Some say like Mango and Banana but I don't know. I love Mango. Hard to describe.
I've seen Paw Paws in the local nursery before but never knew much about them. Now im intrigued. Might have to scope out a good place on the property to plant a Paw Paw or 2.

Just understand they are self sterile. Even though they are monoecious their timing of male and female parts prevent self fertilizations. So get a couple or few.

Question to my fellow growers. What is the max size plant you have produced in a 3.5 gallon pot and a 5 gallon pot? I am at the point where I need to transplant, but am thinking of growing in pots this year, less 10 that’ll be in ground.
I’m tired of the pests and need more control over quite a few of my ladies.
Thank you in advance for any answers.

You'll likely get about what you get indoors in a pot for size. An autowater system outside might make a good setup but I've never tried that and the plants would be a PIA to move when they get big. Being in the earth makes a big difference to how big my plants get. If you put plants outside during the day you'll still get pests unless the pests are night pests that are human.

I've tried the temp greenhouses too but that's a different environment to grow in. Air flow is important then.

Hi guys you have some fantastic grows going, Growshurts idea of digging a hole then filling with compost, soil, manure etc. that's how they grow pumpkins for competitions. Grow massive.
Now my outdoor grow, a gorilla grow while absent and not starting as good as other years. But let's see how it finishes.
I watered the seedling yesterday and the soil where I planted the 2 popped seeds, the 3 plants are sweet critical fast.
